A preliminarly list of theater locations for the limited release of Pokemon the Movie WHITE: Victini and Zekrom have been posted. So far locations are spread far and thin. However they claim more locations are to come. Check out this link for the up to date list.

If memory serves this will be the first movie since Pokemon Heroes (the fifth movie) that has ever hit American theaters, so its an opportunity not to be missed.

Do you count the Zoroark movie that was played in theaters at the BW Mall Tour last year?

Perhaps you could say that, I did not go to the Zoroark movie event last year. There is a difference between full release (which Pokemon 1 through 3 were), limited release (which Pokemon 4 and 5 were), special engagement (which this upcoming movie is), and selective screening (which I am assuming the Zoroark movie was). Not really here to debate which was the last movie released in theaters was, but just posting the news. Also Pokemon Heroes was released in late Spring of 2003 and was the only release in theatres up to this point that did not include a TCG Promo card (Pokemon 1 through 4 all featured promo cards with box office ticket purchase. The fifth one didn't because of the awkard transition from WotC to Pokemon USA Inc for publishing rights of the TCG at that time).

never though I would see a Pokemon Movie in theaters again, did they advertise its release?

Yup heroes was the last movie in theatres.
What was that 7 years ago or something?

Heros was 5th movie right with Latias and Latios?

I dont even think that was in theaters, last one I know of in theaters was 4ever and it was limited release in theaters by miramax, after the 3rd movie released, they never advertised any of the movies very much except Jirachi which ended up being a DVD release. By looking at the locations announced thus far with more to come, it wont be far from being a full release in theaters.

Sounds similar to what they did with the Trigun Badlads Rumble movie.
Of course the closest place is somewhere at least 100 miles away...

Oh well, I'm sure Cartoon Network will show this before it comes on DVD (like the Zoroark one).

And to think I actually travelled over a 100 miles (from Cheyenne to Denver) to see Pokemon 4 and 5. Lol. Of course it helped that gas prices were cheaper back in the day. Lol.

Most of the locations listed so far (207 of a minimum 301) are from a couple of select chains-namely Carmike, Rave, and National Amusements. I did find a listing on the AMC web site, so it stands to reason that some of their locations will have the movie as well (no AMC locations are currently listed).

Update:

The list of theatres has been updated with locations from the Wherenberg and Goodrich chains (which mostly cover MO, IL, IN, and MI):

There is less than a week to go and more locations have been posted and some have been removed! So make sure you take the time to double check your local area and plan next weekend accordingly.

Yeah, I wouldn't treat the list as 100% accurate either. The list is longer than any of Cinedigm's prior engagements (they put out a press release to that effect), so it seems a few listings have gotten lost in the shuffle, and a few may have been missed entirely. I'd estimate it's 90-95% accurate.

I know Utah's considered the middle of nowhere, but there are Pokémon fans here, too.... :(

It largely has to do with what theatre chains are prevelant in what area. SLC has a fair number of locations in in the Cinemark family, which doesn't appear to be participating (they may not have a relationship with Cinedigm as of yet). Similar issue if you have mostly Regal locations in your area. There's a small chance it could be coming to one of the Carmike locations in your area (assuming Cinedigm missed putting it on their list).

Whyyyy is there only one location in Oregon but FIVE in Washington!? T_T And of course the only time it's showing is at 1pm while any pokemon fans in the corvallis area will be participating in the city championship.... *sigh*

Hey, AyameHikaru

The gateway & The district are doing a single showing on 12/2 & 12/3 - because some of us *cough* me *cough* know the movie purchasing manager.

Most of us will be going to the 12/3 gateway showing @ 12PM. You should come with us.

If I hadn't already agreed to judge this week's Cities, I'd go. -_-; Curses, foiled again. Guess I get to watch Black in all its commercial-filled glory on CN. Thanks, though.

I am curious why the change to put this movie in theaters anyway?

I think its first one in theaters in quite a few years.

The fact that there are 2 films this year, and CN presumably has a contract to run 1 Pokemon movie a year or something like that.
