Pokemoncard Story ??

I was at a thrift shop today and I found this weird Japanese Pokemon manga book for 50 cents that says POKEMONCARD STORY 1 on the front.

I think it used to have a card in it because on the inner back cover you can see a spot where adhesive held down some paper there that was removed.

Anybody have any idea what was removed?

Is the book is rare and might be worth something? I can't find anything about it online. Apparently this was a series since it has the number 1 on the cover.

Thank you. I noticed that in the book it shows Mankey a lot so I guess that explains that.

I think that particular manga is a valuable addition to any Pokémon collection. I'd definitely buy it if I were you, provided it's not in terrible condition.
