Pooka's 2009 Nationals Report

Amazing report and job man! You're very humble and you are the best example of a US National Champion to date. See you in a few weeks Pooka ;).

wonderful report, congrats on winning man :)

I can never get the energy right in luxape haha, I keep getting call's when I need fire's :p

hey partner
that was a gr8 win.t2 trash bolt ftw lol that was epic
maybe u can own worlds too? hope yamato makes it.

With your T128 match, I thought that if it went to time like that, someone had to have taken at least 4 prizes for it to be considered a win, otherwise it would go to sudden death?

The 4-prize rule only applies to Game 2. Games 1 and 3 are always scored on prizes (as in Swiss) if time is called there.

Back to Pooka -- congrats on the win, and thanks for the detailed report. It was interesting to read through your thought process in selecting a deck.

Ahh okay thanks for clearing that up.

And yes, it was a very nice report, and very detailed. I'm glad it wasn't another "r1 i won r2 i lost r 3 i lost r 4 i won....." kind of reports. It was a "In round this happened... Then this... Then that..." It was a good read. :thumb:

Congratulations.

Your report was thorough, thoughtful, and engaging. You played well and you won with humbleness.

I am delighted to have a Master's Champ such as yourself as a role model for the younger players. Way to keep what is important on the forefront - SOTG, determination, and humbleness in winning.

Great Job.

This right here. Your SOTG is amazing, and I'm sure the entire community appreciates the thought out report you posted.

Congratulations!

I shudder to think what might happen at MW events this year. Especially in Illinois and Wisconsin. Pookamania hit three years ago. I shudder to think what might happen this year...
