Hmmm, I can't see how this talk about cleavage really should be the overwealming highlight of the US Nats. Perhaps it would be nice to discuss our own personal thoughts on how good and how poor Nats was? I doubt TPCi is really looking for feedback concerning morals or lack of morals in someone's opinion. What other highlights can anyone point to? I know I wasn't there, so I'd really love to hear your stories (remember PG people. PG).

It's a playmat, seriously. It's not even a real woman's cleavage. If there was a chic in the building showing more cleavage than needed, she should cover it up because in a kid's enviorment (even though there are way more masters, but PUSA keeps saying it's for the little ones...) it's not right to show it.

I giggled at this thread, get over it people. Neither you or your kids are going to die from seeing boobs.

But anyway, this was my first nationals and it was absolutely fantastic. I really don't have any complaints at all.

Nats was great this year. Loved the venue, the food situation, compared to last year, was much improved, the distance between the major hotels and the convention center was very close, and the vendors were MUCH better than last year's (Gathering Ground FTL). I really hope they have it there next year. I really don't know why they wouldn't.

Hehehe...boobies....

I hope that they have nats here next year so I can experiance it.
Contrary to what the OP may have led you to believe, there was very little cleavage on display at the tournament.

The Steak'n'Shake at 3 am was quite another story...

I think the general rule of thumb should be if a public school wouldn't allow it, its probably not acceptable at a pokemon tournament either.

Personally I will continue to prepare for tournament by testing my decks not deciding on whats the best way to display my package.

In general I loved the city, lots of places to eat, the convention center was great. I won't say I would be two up set to see it there again.

Actually, studies show that men do die from seeing boobs. Especially at a Pokemon tournament.

There's a player in our area that lost a game due to being SO distracted by cleavage, or so the legend goes.

I am not at liberty to discuss that information. Unless you wanted me to show you to my PayPal account...;)

To stay on topic: Whatever. Dress appropriately. Realize that your kids' eyes aren't going to fall off if a woman shows cleavage.

I think my New York System Wiener's in Woonsocket story at 2:30 AM might be a tad better. Actually it is child friendly (that's a first...) but it'll take to long to type...

Wow , now I know just what to wear at the LCQ
I better stop playtesting and start shopping

Note to self - if you see lia -> head into other direction ;P

This thread is hilarious

"Actually, studies show that men do die from seeing boobs. Especially at a Pokemon tournament. "

-"Whats with that guys chest?" "Thats called a W-O-M-E-N, like mum ;)" "ah "

"There's a player in our area that lost a game due to being SO distracted by cleavage, or so the legend goes. "

That would make for a hilarious judge call

Oh, I'm sure it IS better--just 'cause it happened in a place called "Woonsocket."

Woonsocket. Hee hee hee.

Nats and dress codes

We thoroughly enjoyed the location for Nat's. There was plenty of space, eateries, hotels and other activities to partake in other then Pokemon...no it's not Origins but it was still nice for a change. My only slops would be towards the time it took in between rounds to get masters up and going - but considering the number of players I'm sure it could have been worse. Overall, props!

Regarding female "dress codes" - I myself are proud to say I'm a college educated, professional career holding, Pokemon player, professor and co-league leader and a stepmom to three boys ranging in age 8-16 and did I mention I'm under the age of 30? Whether I rock a paperbag or a cocktail dress people are going to talk. It's not because what I'm wearing, it's because I'm confident and secure. Many people choose clothing as a medium of self expression...it's a god given freedom. Why should anyone feel they have to repress themselves for the sake of a few people? Look at the media, kids shows, video games, movies it's everywhere - even Hannah Montana isn't soo wholesome!!

Trying to hide kids away from reality of modern society isn't going to solve anything, in fact it most likely will backfire. We should educate children from an early age to respect themselves and others along with teaching them tolerance and diversity. Encouraging kids to be unique individuals and expressing themselves creatively is far more productive then keeping them sheltered.

Furthermore, this game may be marketed to kids but lets face it a majority of players attending Pokemon tourney's are ADULTS...so my advice if you don't like something you see, don't look or better yet, do something proactive about yourself so you feel great about being you...stop judging others, leave that up to a higher power.:thumb:

For s game designed for kids, there are FAR more players between the ages of 16~22.

you may see more 16-22 year olds than younger children at turnys, but the thing is that the game is aimed much more at children than other games and there are children at the turnys. people should dress and act acordingly.

Alot of girls I see dress that way at card game tournaments, well to be honest, probably shouldn't.

lol i love this SIB

the thing i dont understand here is why everyone is arguing about the cloathing issue this thred brings up. i like how for a change someone is talking about what POP did very well as well as giving props to thoes who deserve it. i have seen soo many threads about how this or that was bad and he or she screwed up. this thread is soooo right that indy was an amazing venue and the turny was run very well and the judges as a collective did an excelent job. there should be more support for the good on thies forums imo :thumb:
