I paid $3.99 a piece at my super wally world today( bought 6 packs). Flareon star, machamp holo
and a bunch of energies. Not
bad for $18.00 plus tax, but boxes are the play imho.

Forgive John for his math skills, he is under Meds now  4 x 6 = $24 bucks plus tax. (Unless the checker fell under John's mighty charisma and didnt ring up that 6th pack  )

Boxes are the correct move too. Dunno what the local Wally World has them for here....too busy in Court this week.

In Norwich, there have always been 2 places that I regularly go to to buy Pokemon TCG products. Both price everyting reasonably, but 1 of them (an independant store dedicated to selling TCG products and board games) charged £2.60 for Dragon Frontiers packs, when the other place (where our local league takes place) still charged £2.50. I know it's not much, but I thought it would be best to tell you.

Thanks - but I generally collect Japanese cards, so I buy from online retailers. Would love to know of independent stores in london though... wouldn't mind 'supporting' them a little

More on topic: I wonder why the retailers are marking up the products, if it wasn't due to PUI...

Well, something odd is going on.

Wal-mart: $3.97
Target: $3.99
Meijer: $4.19 (...what is going on?)
TRU: $3.99

That's all so far...

Pokemon Center (.com) has a 5-pack for $15.95 ($3.19 a pack).
Other Online retailers are around the standard price.

If the MSRP didn't raise at all for the cards, something odd is seriously going on here.

Ugh, I bought 4 booster packs from Meijer yesterday. They didn't have a price marked, but I assumed they would be $3.39 like they normally are. When I checked the receipt, I saw $4.19!! That's ridiculous for 9 stinking cards. With tax, that's about $0.50 per card, and most of them being worthless common Pokemon or Fossils, and crappy rares like Seviper. For Target, Wal-Mart, and Meijer to all be raising their prices like this cannot be a coincidence. What is going on?

The UK Prices outside of local Hobby Stores do vary a lot, most online retailers are at the £2-49/£2-50 level but WH Smith has been consistantly higher at around the £2-75/£2-99 mark for sometime.

Personally I would support those that support your local game, buy them where you play and you are more likely to continue to have somewhere to play, buy them online or at a big discount retailer and say goodbye to your local shop and league venue in the long run.

Can't wait to see how muhc they will be here in Canada then.....Our 7-11's are already 4.99 a pack for DF.....

What I find is weird is that I can buy them anywhere from $4 a pack to $6 per pack. However since I can buy boxes cheaper, I'd rather go that route.

For me, i live in central Oregon. Prices are about $3.49 for the newer sets. Doesn't really matter where you go. I plan to buy a booster box. I figure say you pay $3.49 a pack, and get 36 packs which is what a booster box has. You'd spend $125.64 for those packs. I have some online stores that sell booster boxes for $89 at one, and some are less than that. Add s/h which is about $10. Round that up to even amount, basically $100. I'm still on the search though, i have seen boxes go for $74.95

I can buy booster box at my local card shop in Oregon for $85. Cheapest price I've ever seen at a store. I've once been at Nintendo World at NYC and their booster boxes were around $120 plus tax. No way I'll ever buy cards from there if we vacation by there again.

$4 per pack is too much. I won't be buying packs from the super retailers anymore.

My card shop gives me a break on the price due to helping them run league and tournaments. I'm luckier than most I guess, though PTO's get the biggest break on the price.

If MSRP hasn't risen, then I suppose Target and W-mart are just matching TRU prices. Our TRU prices have been $3.99 since Ruby & Sapphire. I've never bought packs from TRU.

Wal-Mart gets there product from distributors, who, I believe, can alter the price however they want (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The "company" might be the distributor, not PUI.
