Just a quick question. Does "spider-man's" effect apply after moonlight stadium? cause if it does, all dark and psychic pokemon get one retreat, hampering the deck.

Otherwise awesome deck. Solid, broken, strategic, broken, red face paint, broken, and more broken.

(The good broken)

No, effects that set a retreat cost to 0 always take precedence over other effects that modify retreat costs.

Yess......That is awesome!

In that case, I would reccomend one of the SF bronzongs. Ariados increases all of their pokemon, so it would be an awesome spreader, 'specially against tank decks like tyrannitar.

Wow....now I'm gonna have to add ariados to my sig.....

main attacker? 50 damage for 3 energies is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay little

Yeah, I know. It sucks. I've had to Uxie Lv.X+Palkia Lv.X combo to take the basics out, as Roserade does so little damage. I even end up charging Bronzong sometimes.

While I would like to have a big hitter here, the problem is that most big hitters aren't suitable here. Either they need Rare candy (Not much point when the rest of the deck doesn't), don't gain free retreat from Moonlight or are just too setup-intensive.

If you dropped 2-2 Bronzong you would be able to get 1-1 Azelf and 1-1 Mesprit in, but with 4 psychic energies, you won't be Supreme Blasting for long. The Bronzong lineup can also be dropped for 2-2 Swalot, which does a good 80, but only if your opponent has less HP. If Swalot had 100, this would be doable (as 130 HP - 30 snipe - 10 poison = 90 left), but without it, it would be another 90 HP pokémon to swarm the bench with. Somehow Deoxys doesn't cut it either, as it needs load of energy, and you won't be able to utilize the Normal Forme, which usually is the most effective of them all, with the deck that removes your opponent's energies.

But the point of this deck is that even little damage stacks. If it takes 3 turns for Kingdra to retreat a Claydol just to get to throw an attack for 80 (60+20), then the 3 turns you hit for 30 with Roserade will put your average damage above Kingdra's. Unless of course you're playing against healing decks, but those decks aren't usually hard-hitters (Tangrowth, Torterra DP) and have some heavy retreat costs which are easily Palkia-exploitable (Sceptile, Claydol). Butterfree could cause problems here, if it didn't play Claydol...

If there were an easy-to-tech-in Basic/Stage 1 hard hitter with low energy costs with free retreat from Moonlight, it could easily replace the Bronzong line. Now that there isn't... well, the deck is still doing pretty well.

Tomi,

That is a really neat deck that you got around with more great usage with Palkia Lv.X

No wonder, that Palkia Lv.X in Dark Wing Duck really surprise me a bit and what surprised me even more, that you managed to put Palkia Lv.X to great usage.

Major props to you for making more amazing and unique deck.

So yeah, I wanted to try out one of your amazing deck one day - as soon as I get the 2 Roserade SF then I'm set.

Have a nice day.

Jason.

Does this really work?
Because, the main attacker's HP is 90!
90 is like nothing!
And, it attacks 50 for 3 energies!

Kingdra attacks 60 for 1 energy and its HP is 130,
Torterra attacks 60/100 for 1/2 energies (with sceptile) and its HP is 140/160

The idea is good but I don't think that this deck can win Citi Championships

Jason: Thanks for your kind comment! Palkia Lv.X is my favourite card in this format, flipping some matchups completely upside down. It has got some success recently, but when the season is over, my goal is that people will be teching against it.

Kingdrax: It already did once, going 3-0 against Kingdras. The damage per attack doesn't matter, average damage per turn does.

Have you considered Cresselia lv. X as a possible replacement for that Bronzong slot? It isn't exactly a power hitter, but with the lock strategy you have here it can easily grab 2 prizes on something you've softened up with Roserade via Moon Skip. Full Moon Dance can be nice too, especially if your opponent gets a quick hit on you before you get your lock. That way you can spend a number of turns transferring damage over (6-8 if you were Dragon Pumped, for example), helping set things up for KOs with Roserade/Moon Skip.

If you added it you would probably need to make a slight energy adjustment to accommodate it, but I think its two useful abilities combo nicely with both Palkia lv. X and Roserade.

Back in the day before SF was released, I played this deck with 3-3 Bronzong and 2-2 Cresselia instead of Roserade/Bronzong lines here. Cresselia Lv.X is no doubt awesome, but I'm a bit afraid to play it as it would propably turn Gengar matchup very negative. Bronzong is one of the bests in terms of countering Gengar swarm, AMU, Dusknoir etc. Not to mention that 2x Cressy would crowd my bench quite seriously.

Cresselia still is very playable, I love how Cressy and Palkia can win games together without even attacking. Replacing Bronzong would propably boost some other matchups (Kingdra, Abomasnow), but in the current meta, I still think Bronzong is slightly superior choice.

If Cresselia was played, I would easily recommend 1-1 Azelf to be put in, too. Gusting something insignificiant as active with Palkia, locking it with Azelf, moving the damage to main attackers with Cresselias...

I just thought of a very similar deck with hetran lvx, rapidash from stormfront and obiously palkia lvx... the thing that hetrans retreat is a complication here... but the enrgys that you would discard with rapidash would be brought back with hetran... doing 60 of snipe instead of 30...

wouldn't you have a problem with your opp. sending up palkia lv. x everytime you use his power? and are you using his power every turn?
