Hi guys, I would like to ask whether you would like to play this kind of team play, or suggest me a different good system. I heard lot of people would like to play in teams...what do you think? Or just simple halfdeck? I would like to know your opinions, because that matters the most...

What is your opinion about this team battle:

Team Modified Half Deck battle, Entrance fee per team (per 3 persons): 10 EUR / 250 CZK.
- Registration:
If you have at least 1 junior in your team, you will play in category Juniors (to your team name will be assigned junior age), if you have no junior and at least 1 senior, you will play in category Seniors and if you have allstar only Masters team, you will play in category Masters.
- Determining of the round overall winner:
During each round you play 3 matches simultaneously. Best of 3: Team with more wins is the overall winner of the round.
- Pairings:
Each round after you find the team you are playing against, count your age total. Team with smaller age total (i.e.: Team A) starts picking who will play against who. After Team A assigns 1 of its players to 1 player from the opposite team, the other team chooses who will play against who and assigns 1 of its 2 remaining players to 1 of players from team A.
- Time-outs:
Players in a team can call for a team discussion (30 sec. Time-out) 3 times per a round. Each team must have ready a die which marks how many discussions (Time-outs) have they already taken. Only during that time they could discuss the strategies in any games (any other time no talking!). They cannot take playing cards with them to the discussion. But they can look at the game situation...
- Prize structure:
We have ready prizes for each category!
...
Please advice and decide whether you would play such team battle?

Half deck is the original format from Japan. All japanese players usually compete in half deck battles. It is quicker, a bit easier to build and maybe even better for new and younger players. I like halfdeck tournaments, but if most of you do not, than we cancel it. Just please write your opinion until 1.10.2011. I would like to announce the final structure of the side event at this date.

Let me know how difficult for you would be to find a team of 3 people. That might the the biggest problem. And if you would like to play in a team of 3. LMK

Thanks

I think finding teams of 3 would be OK for most people. This is because people who are attending this are likely to already be traveling in groups so it shouldn't be to much of a problem.

half decks was interesting when I went to Japan and played it, pretty much a prize race every game though. It seemed a kinda broken format tbh where going first made too much of an impact :/
