Prizes at Prereleases?

So I went to the Rising Rivals Prerelease in Salt Lake City, Utah, my first event in like
2 years. After my first round I said something about how there were no prizes, and my
opponent said there actually were prizes for placing well. I was like "wow, this place really
is Zion." Turns out, the top 3 places after swiss got some extra packs, in addition
to the 3 for attending and turning the energy back in. Plus they even gave us all free
sleeves. So is this normal across the nation, or just a Utah thing?

Everything is normal except the additional 3 packs for getting top 3, another reason for me wanting to move to Utah...
So I'm not the only one on here that is mormon?

Standard is 6 packs up front and 2 at the end, with the return of the basic energy.
Or a theme deck and 4 at the end.

How many packs did you get to build a deck with?

Getting packs for doing well is not policy, but random drawings and prizes is allowed.

I got 6 packs to build my deck with, same as everyone else. And nope, you're not the only mormon
on here, I'm mormon too.
