@Cyrus

Private Beach:

Once during each player's turn, that player may pay his or her opponent $100 to forfeit the match. You may ignore any tournament rules against collusion.

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Sadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can't play this card.

Not to put words into your mouth, Cyrus... but "fixed".

oops i quoted the wrong thing, i meant to quote this one

Canada isn't in the Arctic. I really don't get where all these suggestions involving frost and ice are coming from.
Canada is, however, very cold in many places. Far colder than most of the United States, where the bulk of the members here are from, and far, FAR colder than Hawaii or San Diego.

I love this speculation when (my money is on) it being beach again. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong that world promos have been the same in each "block".

But Vancouver hardly ever snows, MAYBE once or twice a year. It rarely goes below 0 here. However, it does rain a lot, so something involving rain would be more likely than something involving snow.

Indeed. Vancouver is incredibly cold and has no beaches. Please don't forget to pack warmly and don't worry about swimming trunks. No need for that at all.

(in all seriousness I think a few of you need to check out TravelWiki or something before heading out to Worlds)

"Cold" is a relative term. Compared to some places, Vancouver is quite cold indeed. The temperatures around this time of year in Vancouver sound wonderful... but remember that in a lot of the U.S. a summer day at 70°F is normal or pleasantly cool. Until now, hasn't Worlds always been in tropical or
tropical regions?

I've had American Tourists arrive to North-Eastern Ontario during July with Skis strapped to their roof and ask me why there is no snow (I used to work at a Hotel). Yeah Canada can have some pretty harsh winters some time, but in the summer even places incredibly far north don't have snow. And Vancouver is one of the warmest places in Canada. Is it the tropics? No, but it isn't the North Pole either.

I expect a new promo for World's this year, but I really hope it doesn't have anything to do with cold and snow.

Indeed... just like in the Midwestern United States there are people amazed we have indoor plumbing and drive cars instead of tractors. Some people are just misinformed.

Most here, on the other hand, are just looking for something humorous to say, and "Tropical" is a real, specific climate based term and not a relative descriptor like "cold" or "warm"... even if people often use "Tropical" as such.

I feel like I have to defend myself and say that my family is from Canada and I do know that not everywhere is freezing cold, but in general most of Canada IS cold, so the jokes being made are fitting to Canada as a whole.

As to the Tropical thing, Vancouver, while not really cold, certainly isn't tropical.

Considering codes to unlock Tropical Beach on PTCGO are going to be distributed to competitors, Beach seems like it will probably once again be the promo. Although hopefully if it is not reprinted, Beach will be distributed in another form. I can't imagine how much the price would increase if we didn't get it for this year's promo.
