Flaming Spinach - Jirachi DX is not supposed to be banned for it's resistance to grass and attacking capabilities. =/ The reason Dan's asking for it to be banned is because it's the cornerstone of T2 decks by way of its power, Wishing Star. The only reason people put Metal in T2 decks is in case they run up against Wobbuffet, Shedinja, Ninetales, Dewgong, or Altaria, which all have a safeguard-type power. Those 5 Pokemon are uncommon, though, and Jirachi usually never attacks during the course of the game. I don't know where you got the idea that Jirachi would be attacking a lot in T2 decks, but you need to actually try them before you make a comment like that.

Okay. I believe we have come to a missunderstanding here.

I am not saying that Jirachi will attack while being played in a Muk deck. That would require taking Muk out of the active spot, allowing your opponent to Quick Search/Smooth Over/Firestarter/whatever, the very thing Muk is made to prevent.

I am saying that ANY deck could play Jirachi, not only for his wishing star power, but because he is an excelent counter to Muk. So what if Jirachi's the corner stone of T2 decks? I'm simply stating away that you can use tis card to your advantage.

ok i just read pages 1 and 2, i'm to tierd to read the whole thing....
Some of you are right, during a match, t-2 decks use a alot of luck, but its in the deck making that eleminates alot of the luck....blow up trode ex, get energy, and pow! hand extension, who needs reversles? inconsitents starts? put in 4 claw fossils...you get the idea? The more skilled player can make a good t-2 deck using LESS luck involed...
No Matter what way you look at it every deck uses luck, luck on opponent match-ups well thats why you teck cards....luck on first hand...you put in more basics? lol that one is harder but still...you can never complaine about luck in this game, guess it will always have luck to some degree, Fluop, i belive you lost worlds last year dew to 2 bad hands correct? there's nothing you can do about that....well, I lost GC (well missed t4 cut) because I stated with a lone skitty (with rare candy delcatty in my hand..) but he went first....swoop, pidgey, rare candy, pidgeot, boost, GG) it was a shiftree deck, and beat me before i had a turn...There is no way in stopping things like that from happinging...If you loss to alot of t-2 decks, find a way to counter it...thats all i can say....

Lastly Stage 2 decks were meant to run formats. Does everyone forget why modified was made in the first place. To allow the Stage two decks an environment they could compete in. This banning is necessary to yet again allow pokemon to be played the way it was meant to be. With big, slow stage twos. They simply cannot compete in this environment.

Please Nintendo, return order to the format and ban one or more of the cards necessary to these turn two decks.

Hi Chris,

Did you have a look at the two new sets to be released soon? Both are in essence built around fast stage one evolution line with one big surprise which can be seen as an exception of this rule. The trainers and mechanics in these two sets scream weenie rush.

Maybe it is a more rapid change in the environment this game is all about. In the current - or from a japanese point of view previous - metagame stage two decks dominated the environment and stage one did have little chances. Now the pendulum swings again. Mainly because combo decks are much harder and less consistent to run with the removal of some of the older ADV sets.

There is more than one stage one deck to choose from and all of them have counters. Even in the sense of stage two decks. However, I admit that most of these stage two decks are rocket based.

Skill can be subdivided. Stage one weenie rush decks take the skill down to the deck construction phase more than stage two decks. This at least hoilds true for the next modified format.

Have you seen the new Muk?
It shuts down all Poké-POWERs while active. Combine it with the new ascension grimer and you dont have to ban jirachi, cause a new T1 deck has just been born.

Not thus far but it points to the same direction. Fast stage one weenie rush decks in all flavours with built in counters for each of them .

With regard to the skill issue: It does take skill to run a good weenie rush deck but the skill can be allocated more to the deck construction phase since one more or one less card matters a lot in these decks from own experience from playing in a japanese metagame. Just my two cents .

Hi metagross,

Actually I am not from Japan but we have a strong japanese and chinese community here. Thus we go with japanese cards and set rotations. At the moment the metagame is all stage one decks with three exceptions. However this is still Golden Skies and Silver Seas metagame restricted to flight of the legends on. Poké-Powers are still common but turn two decks are not restricted to disablers like Muk Ex.

Beside that bench sizes are usually smaller than they used to be. There is a lot of variety in stage one decks though and deck construction does make a big difference. What I enjoy is that this new set will shake up the environment once again.

If you are trully a GOD player you should be able to out play or out MetaGame a T2 deck.
Why you ask, Well it's Because your a GOD player. Also Like Super Wooper said,
Find a way to TeCh against it. At the Memphis Gym Challenge, I played against a Turn Two
Dusclops Deck, Made by Swanton1717. Yes it PWNED my T2 T-Tar, Yes It ran Swoop/Jirachi.
But Because It has been made I will find a Way to prepare for it like any other T2 Deck come Worlds.
So don't Ban The card that allows them to Function.

My 2 Cents.

You yahoos still don't get what we're talking about when we say "turn 2 deck." I seriously give up on educating anyone else, ever again.

Someone earlier brought up the ascension Grimer. Problem with that is, Dragon will be rotated out when Eideleon Forest or whatever it's called is rotated out. So the combo with Muk EX will not be legal, at least not for any big events.

There's no need to start getting ban-happy in the format. Start banning things now, and the format will go the way of Neo-on before long (aka, a 2-deck format).

Turn-2 decks are in no way indestructable. I myself run a T2 deck (Zap-Turn-Dos, to be specific), and I've had just as many victories as I have losses, all to a variety of decks.

And at the same time, T2 decks deserve a tad more respect than they're given. They're obviously whoopin' your butt if you're throwing up such a huge fuss over them.

Stop complaining and start learning from your losses. First of all, you're never going to have an ultimate, unbeatable deck. Your deck will ALWAYS have some sort of weakness or disadvantage to some other deck out there. It should be your responsibility to discover how to modify your deck and playing style to overcome these decks, instead of crying "BAN IT!"

All i know is that someones jealous cuz they cant get a good list for these so called "turn 2 decks" so they come to the gym, a "good" site, and whine about it. Well tough luck, turn 2 decks are good and they are here to stay, no use banning these decks that ppl have worked SOOOOO hard on 2 months b4 worlds. Plz stop complaining, no one wants to hear it. I think someone here has been choking on a black snake lately  :nonono:

If it weren't for T2 decks, we'd have Rock-Lock clearly dominating the format.

Then we'd have to ban ATM Rock.

Oh, while we're at it, Dark Dragonite and Salamence deserve a break! Anyone can just throw shard into a deck and beat a superior Dragon-deck player. So, let's ban Crystal Shard.

No, wait, it's people getting lucky with flips, so let's ban ER2 and Reversal.

But nearly all decks depend on Dunsparse. It just makes it too easy to get those broken combos going. It takes no skill to play Dunsparse, or to get a lucky flip on Sudden Flash. So, let's ban Dunsparse.

I know, let's all just go play chess instead. Problem solved! :thumb:

Aren't you the retard who wanted to ban Rare Candy? Lol.

This topic sux. Jirachi for lyfe. Btw Unban all the ppl that u banned u silly mods; they told me on AIM they don't like this. Oh yeah, Pokemom, I got ur SD right here; *v/g*. Plz stop postin Pokemom, u dont even kno how to play the game lol.

I've figured it out!!

The Japinese were the first people to figure out how these T2 decks worked, but instead of sweep us at worlds with these decks, they decided to have some of their agents plant these super-powerful decks in the US, so by the time worlds starts, everyone in North America will be playing some version of T2 deck. That way the Japinese can bring their specially made Muk-killer decks, and sweep us at worlds again! It's all a Japinese plot! Spread the word! Don't fall into the trap like we did last year!
