Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

PS3 - 360 - or Revolution which are you getting???

360 and PS3 are targeted towards those who can afford to buy the system and 5 games just when they get it? HMMM. I'd hate to target my system only for those able to drop $850 when the system comes out. That would totally reduce the market for the system. Many many people in high school and before cannot afford to drop that kind of cash all at once.

No, I think both the 360 and PS3 are marketed to kids, just they expect them to go out and drop $500+ whenever sony or microsoft says so. For that kind of dough, you'd expect the games to be top notch. But don't be surprised if the games on the revolution are just as good. Maybe not as "pretty", but if you want pretty, you should go buy a gaming computer and tech that thing out.

I find it ironic that the same people that fear change (such as in the form of the revolution's controller) are also the ones that want more mighty next-gen consoles sooner, and jeer at nintendo for its continuation of old classic game series.

PS3 for me
all these other wanksta Consoles
will not sell as much as the PS3

*i can tell the future =/ *
Hmm wanna bet! I bet 360 out sell the ps3 2-1! I own or have owned all the systems out and we did buy the ps2 and personally it sucked.....Hate to have to buy memory cards just to play a game, kinda like the game cube. The only reason the gamecube has not been sold like the ps2 was because of the pokemon games my son plays, the ps2 lasted a whole 1 month I believe before it went bye-bye! X-box has built in memory the only time you need a memory card is if you want to transfer saves to another x-box. We have owned our x-box since the day it was released and have never had a problem, you can even have your own tunes downloaded and playing on some of the games!

LOL so if you can see the future you will spend the extra buck and get yourself a real system! j/k

Now that I got that out I would have to say it is really personal preference on what system you like and how much money you wish to spend as I do agree that some of the new systems are going to be outrageous and alot of people will not be able to afford them so you pretty much have to go with the more affordable systems. :thumb:

The hatred of the Revolution controller isn't a fear of change. It's just a horrid looking controller, that I don't see being player friendly. There were three major flaws with the GC IMHO.

1.Too many kiddy games. The average gamer is male between 18-28. That demographic usually isn't playing Mario Party 56.

2.A lack of extras. I commend Nintendo for their dedication to gaming. However, the lack of a DVD/CD player really cost them.

3.Lack of Online play. The GC had I think a total of 2 online games that you had to buy an adapter for. Xbox set the blueprint, GC should have followed.

Uh... how did GC come into the discussion?

Maybe he's goin for the "History repeats itself" referrence? GC failed to impress 75% of gamers out there and that alone will hurt the Revolution, initially anyway.

Well, I guess if people just go by "Oh, nintendo... I see," then it would. But really, GC did NOT have a whole lot going for it. Revolution, on the other hand, is brimming with potenital.

See thats just it "potential". Unfortunately we live in a s society that wants everything NOW and up front. To have to wait on a company to improve, thats just unheard of!! Which is why i said Initially it may not do well, but when it starts to get a better rep then perhaps it will be more competitve

Okay.

But on that point, I've heard a lot of people saying that 360 games look just like xbox ones to the point where they practically couldn't tell a difference. Now and up front, huh?

And I say potential because we don't actually know how and what games will use the new control method. I mean, even though I do think it's a great idea, they could still go and screw it up completely. Which is why I can't directly say that revolution will definitely be good.

I agree. I would really like to see them all in say, 2 yrs time. hahaha..but thats just not gonna happen. I got a chance to play the 360 this week at a game store. They only had Call of Duty 2 demoing, but it did look nice. Lots of attention to detail about whats going on in the back ground (Dogfights over head, ships firing off shore, etc..) and a Lot of detail on the surroundings like markings on the walls, bullet holes and stuff like that. The characters themselves weren't much better than the first one, although the overall game ran much more smoothly. So i guess for the average gamer that really only looks at the main character and whatever he's shooting at, then it will appear that its no better than the original Xbox, but in reality it really is a step up.

Only problem is, you really cant tell much about a system in its first initial games, the software companies never fully exploit the potential of a system till years down the road it seems.

Too bad for our society, then, huh?

Also, this is where difference of opinion comes in. I mean, if I have to paying fairly close attention to notice any difference in games as you said (and I mean it in an overall sort of sense too), then is it really even worth it? Do you really need a new console for small details you might never see? I don't.

i suppose so, but to me, those minute details make the experience better. Makes it feel like you are there better than games that dont take the time to provide details. Also, if they are doing that now, it just lets me know that the detail of the characters will get a lot better in the next coming months of development.

I agree that those demos won't look as good as the real games for the system, but really, for $20 more a game, and $20 more a controller, and really, a $500 system, it should look like gold compared to the xbox.

But really, it's getting to a stage where the graphics are good enough for me. If anyone is a stickler for graphics, then consoles aren't the right choice for them. Waiting 2-3 years for a better look? No way, just buy a computer and every year spend $1000 and upgrade to the next best software.

I got to play a X-box 360 over the weekend. I hope we can hook up a keyboard to it because I really can't get used to using a controller for FPS games. CoH2 looks fantastic on it though. All the games looked fantastic. It actually almost made me want to buy the system, but then I saw the price tag and the prices of the games, and everything and realized that I wasn't a millionaire and couldn't afford this system. A few games for christmas is like heaven for me, theres no way I could dump $700 on a system. The controller is nice and the system looks good and I wish I owned the wide screen flat panel tv they used with it. I mean, dang it was nice.

Either way, I see PS3 being the odd man out this coming year. Revolution will occupy the people looking for cheap games that are really original and fun. Xbox360 coming out this year will sell a lot and what will be the selling point for the PS3? Better graphics? No thanks, I already bought a 360, and have like 10 games for it, and I rather not drop the cash for another system. Want better graphics? No thanks, I have a computer. Want a white console? No thanks, Revolution and Xbox360 come in white and they can even come in different colors and/or change their face panel to different designs.

Really.

the PS3 has die hard fans just like Nintendo. It will sell REALLY well in Japan as Xbox just hasn't found a market there. But the 360 should do well in the states. Sony just hasn't impressed me yet with the PS3, maybe i'm biased because Microsoft is like 4 miles from here, Microsoft haters sorta annoy me (gaming wise, not software wise). Is it wrong to want an American company to do well?

Revolution has too many people in the non-gamer basket, and they aren't, IMO, offering anything seriously appealing for those who are already gamers.

The 360 I just plain don't like. I'm not going to argue about the 360, mainly because I can't really justify it. I simply have no interest whatsoever.

The PS3, much like the PS2, will be sucessful, despite any shortcomings or the millions of misconceptions that will overglorify it. Why? Because there will be more games for it in two weeks then you can count on ten people.

EDIT: FastPhil, that 75% is more like 85%.

First off PS3 is going to own the Jappense market on games 2nd Nintendo does have orginal games but very overdone orginal games I mean Jesus how many Mario games came out just this year, 28, 29 I lost count. And when it comes to the color of the console you are just taking a cheap shot on the Playstation the color doesn't make the systeam the games do which PS3 has classics from Final Fantasy to new school games like God of War. So nxt time you post think if it really defines the systeam or is just a unmeaningful detail.
