I love QueenHatter!
I have been running this for quite some time, as I am a man of my set up decks w/ techs.
and this is really the only viable option for that combo that isnt Gardevior Gallade.
as Hatter said, this is still a great deck choice. I made top 8 at Utah states, top 4 at Idaho, and made top 8 at Regionals.
not bad at all if i may say so myself.
But of course I couldnt have done any of that without Hatters Help through out my days of playing it.
ill post the list i used, as it has worked VERY well for me.
Pokemon:25
3 Pachirisu
1 Tauros CG
1 Mawile CG
3 Nidoran she
2 Nidorina
2 Nidoqueen
1 Nidoqueen δ
2 Duskull
1 Sith Dusclops
2 Dusknoir
2 Ralts DF
1 Kirlia SW
1 Gardevoir SW
1 Gallade
1 Baltoy
1 Claydol
Trainers:
3 Celios
3 TVR
4 Candy
1 Island Hermit
1 Roseanne's
1 Castaway
1 Scott
2 Warp point
1 Night Maintenance
1 Lake Boundry
1 Moonlight Stadium
2 Strength Charm
Energy: 14
4 Double Rainbow
2 Scramble
1 Multi
7 Psychic
Now first thing that i notice when i look at the list is that it plays a hefty SEVEN stage twos, FIVE different pokemon lines, and a good 11+ single cards that could be prized and end up screwing you over.
and yet, it works with out flaw...
the only thing that i really have any trouble at all with this is against a WELL played Gardevoir Gallade (Ian).
other than that the only reason i would loose is if too many important things are prized (and with my prize luck that happens too often).
hence why I put the Island Hermit in my deck before Regionals. those 2 prizes that i flip over can give me a great idea where my Claydol or Nidoqueen δ is. Gallade also helps this if i get it out early.
For the tech's I chose to run a 2-1-1-1 Gardevoir Gallade line.
It gives me a 3rd set up power, Telepass (Cosmic Draw and Invatation as well).
I can lock up their powers with Gardevoir, or random one hit ko's when i need them with Gallade.
other techs that work well are:
-Shiftry EX is still viable, as they take 20 for using their powers, which is nice. it also has free retreat and adds a bench hit option. when we get Aerodactyl next set it will easily replace it as it doesnt need candy and isnt EX.
-Mightyena EX could still also be used. Its power is SOO helpful when they bring something up to stall while they power something usefull up on the bench. it also has free retreat.
and what about the magmortar match up? well just dont play it there! they only thing thats still stoping me from using it is that Palkia Lv X is becoming much more popular in gallade decks, so it would be easy for them to bring it up then ko it with gallade (assuming they can retreat whatever you bring up).
-Lickilicky. I have done a little bit of testing with this, and its acctually not that bad. itll let me bring whatever i want active and maybe paralyze it. its also currently the best way to escape Psychic Lock, although still unreliable.
and if youre playing Boost like some list do (for emergency Queen δ) you could also use it for an out-of-nowhere 80.
-Ampharos isnt really that great of a tech in here anymore as there are so many ways to get around using supporters, that some decks dont play any at all. but it could still definitley have its uses.
-Cresselia Lv. X could do quite well indeed. it can act as a plus power, making it much easier to OHKO Gallade or other things with 90-110 HP. and it could really help with the being able to take 2 prizes option.
perhaps play it with 1 Psy Shadow Gardevoir to help power it up fast AND make sure use of its power.
-Mismagius still gets the OHKO on Gallade and Gardevoir with a scramble or DRE, which is good.
-Kingler. I have even tried out Kingler to help the Magmortar match up (its close without it, but still in your favour).
you can Scramble for a OHKO on the Magmotar, which isnt bad.
-SlowBro/King can be used in much the same way as the Gardevoir/Gallade tech i use is.
Lake Boundry (DRE/Strength Charm for damage manipulation) can OHKO any fire type, and it has Amnesia which could be quite helpful.
the Slowkings power is nice as well, as you could grab a Scramble or a Candy or something to help you counter attack right away.
-Palkia Lv. X could work well, as mentioned by corypoke2. it would act much like the Mightyena EX, but its not an EX and you get to chose what on their bench they bring up. but they get to do the same to you, and with no real way to retreat the Palkia right away it seems a bit impracticle.
-Togekiss is also a great idea. if you can grab even 3 or so energy, and have places on the bench to attach them, it can be gamebreaking indeed. it can also help the Gallade match up.
-More Claydol can help emmensly. I Played 2 for a while and it was so easy to get what i wanted with 2 of them out. so giving this a try is definitely worth it.
I would like to find room for another Roseannes/Mentor, but space is tight and I cant really find anything to take out.
maybe Lake Boundry because the only deck thats weak to Psychic is Gallade/Gardevoir, and they always play their own Lake Boundry against be anyways.
there isnt a whole bunch of people playing this anymore (was there ever really a WHOLE bunch?) so it did have a bit of suprise factor in the tournaments i played in.
I do, however, think that this deck is definitely Achtype worthy. as it has a 50-50 or higher against all others, such as Infernape, Banette, Hurrican, Magmortar, and Gallade/Gardevoir, AND it can beat just about any random deck thrown its way. the only things I see this losing to are great Gallade Gardevoir players, and VERY lucky DWD decks.
