Question about 2 cards

holon research tower- Each player's basic energies attached to delta pokemon is both their usual energy type and metal

charizard delta's metal burn- discard all metal enrgies


So I'm asking do you have to discard those basic energies when charizard and HRT are out, because it's considered metal or do you not have to because it still is its basic energy.
