Questions about Volunteer for Pokemon events (Non Pokémon Professors)

I was wondering is there a way to be a volunteer for a Pokémon events? ((Non Pokémon Professors)
For ex. helping out passing out mechanics or help out be a runner. or sign-up etc. My wife love to volunteer for Convention/Events.

At local events, sure. Speak with the professors/store owners running the event to see if they need or want help.
At larger events, they are pretty much using Professors.
Bear in mind that Professors have gone through background checks (in most countries) so there is a reason they use Professors.
