Quick Search - Pidgeot Ex (164/197)

I am pretty sure that the answer is no, but I would like to just get confirmation.
If a player uses Pidgeot EX to search their deck to get a card, can they "fail" the search and choose to not take a card?

No because it is known that there are cards in the deck.
