Raichu lx: Destroyed by power spray?

I really like this card, and I was hoping to play it. However, power spray really destroys this card. I could use handsom's investigation to check if they have any power sprays before using my power, and force them to shuffle. Would this be enough protection, and are there any other ways to stop power spray?

THAT WAS A MISPRINT THAT WAS ERRATA'd
The error was corrected later :)
I see where that got you confused :)

Dialga X would be your concern because your "Link"/double attack thing is a POKEBODY.

The key is to POP that Dialga before it becomes Dialga X.

Power Spray requires your opponent to be playing a "G" deck with mostly/all SP-G pokemon.
So, they'd have to have 3 G's in play to even USE the spray card.

My problem with the RaichuX deck is... SETTING UP RAICHU X!!
and then getting those energies back. When I finally get a couple of shots off.

If you want to FEATURE RaichuX as your main attacker:
My BEST advice is to IGNORE matchups with this deck and build Raichu to work on it's own.
Get that RaichuX T3 and Voltage shoot + attack #2

A downfall w/ Raichu is that Voltage shoot only does 80 damage. So, you grind hard to get that
double attack set up and, oftentimes, you have to hit the same poke twice for a KO.
(I've seen a Devoluter attached to 'conserve energy' for the second attack)

Remember, to DOUBLE VOLTAGE SHOOT, you'd need:
-- 4 energies in hand
AND
--- 3 Energies attached to Raichu X
AND
-- not have Diagla X sitting across the table.

Then, when you DO get the Double attack off, you've got 4 or 5 energies discarded. :(

Many have tried to work this deck out, but it's SO energy wasteful that people have given up on the deck altogether.

Now, if I were you, I'd make Raichu X my FEARED henchman. Just sit him on the bench and let him collect energy then just roll up late game and CLEAN UP for the DOUBLE PRIZE late game.
Sort of a lightening version of a Cressalia X ;)

Good Luck man ...

Okay, this is my Raichu/Luxray deck (Pokemon section only)

2-2-2-2 Raichu Lv.X (MT Raichu)
2-2-2 Luxray DP
2-2 Claydol
2 Unown G
1-0-1 Togekiss

Add in some memory and other good trainers, and about 15 electric energy

strategy: Use Togekiss to put energy onto Luxray. Then use Lightning Star to put them on Raichu. Level Raichu up and Voltage Shoot twice. Then use Electric Circuit to put the energy back in your hand.

I usually don't post here, but I have to asked. What is the point of Luxray? His Poke-power is no help to you and he only does 80 for 4 energy. Why not directly attach to Raichu? All Luxray is doing is being a burden on consistency.

Yes, but it allows for maximun damage potential. Nothing can survive 240 damage (80 for Luxray and 160 for two Raichu Shoots)

I know, but it creates some speed. And the power creates a prize situation.

Alternatly, you could go Raichu/Rayquaza

4-2-1-1 raichu
2-2 claydol
2 uxie
1 azelf
~15~

4 call
12 electric
~16~

1 luxuary ball
2 premier ball
4 roseannes
3 NM
4 bebe
4 pokedrawer
3 conductive quarry
3 develutor
2 plus power
2 warp point
1 bucks

Heres my list. Its not the best list but this is the only good way to play raichu. Just straight rai. Deovolutor is so broken in here because you can pretty much one shot so many stage 2s that don't have g or is a lv.x. I ususally have T3 raichu x wiht 2 energy on a benched rai but I have had a couple of shacky starts. In my area some of the best players I know were at the first few cities so I know it is good just it wasn't the best play for the format.

Actually RA, it wasn't errata'd...

It's a Body through and through. "power" when in all lowercase referencing itself means Body or Power.

4-2-1-1 raichu

For clarity...that's 4 pikachu, 3 Raichu (of 2 unknown sets) and Raichu Lvl X...right?

The way it reads, I thought you meant 4 pichu, 2 pikachu, 1 raichu, 1 raichu lvl x, at first.

Anyway, Raichu should do well against straight-G decks, assuming they can get going before that Dialga G Lvl X is dropped. a Voltage Shoot is able to 1-hit Skuntank G, Crowbat G, or Honchkrow G, making it very effective in a general sense. If you follow it up with Burst Ball (from the SF Raichu), you almost certainly take out a Toxicroak G. Then, you should be relatively well set, particularly if you were able to manage the Bust Ball's energy removal from a Benched pokemon.

Unfortunately, the deck is very energy wasteful, and has to be built totally around the idea of getting insane amounts of energy into your hand nearly every turn. Otherwise, it stalls out and has the floor mopped with Raichu's face. Conductive Quarry, Claydol, Uxie, Roseanne's, Night Maintenance, and alternate draw-power are all musts in this deck. You just can't afford to play otherwise. And you have to run with pretty much every energy being Basic Lightning, or you'll never have enough when you need it.

Just my two cents.

Sorry 4 pikachu. Either MD or SF if kingdra is big because unless they have a PP or bucks it will survive the donk.
3 Raichu. I'm not sure whether it should be 2MT and 1 SF or 1 MT and 2 SF. I like 2 SF better but if you feel 2 MT would be better then sure. And 1 lv.x

Funny thing is, I run a very successful Raichu deck, and I don't have any problems only running 11 Electric, or no Uxie (although it would help. I just can't find room). Though I do run 4 ways to get back Energy, so it's not a big deal for me.

SF Raichu is next to worthless too, for the most part. I can think of all of 2 times when it helped me, so I just scrapped it.

The G match-up isn't that good, either. The Raichu I run is fast, often completely set up T3, but ToxiTank just hits too hard, too fast, for too little Energy. I'd give it a 35-65 their favor.

I personally never saw the viability of Luxray DP in Raichu. It seems like it is just an unnecessary line, and slows you down.

Dialga G is a problem, but if you double Voltage Shoot it before it LV's up, then you should be okay.

I really don't DVS much, anyway. That is the main problem with a lot of Raichu decks. They aim for that when it is much easier to use the non-X Raichu's attack after a Voltage Shoot, be it Explosive Thunder, Burst Ball, or Thunderbolt.

Listen to this, I have polished my Raichu so much I've thought about using it for States. I posted it in RA's thread when it was still not-completely-formed, but now I'm almost completely done with it.
