I just figure bucks nets you cards and without the G's, your claydol is gonna get sniped something fierce. It appears to me you either run fishing engine, or G your claydols up as soon as possible in this meta.. I suppose instead of absol you could run sable/wager to disrupt turn one and then roseannes for your bench next.

I think I will try this deck out at cities this week with my own tweaks and let you know how it goes.

Thanks! I'm planning to run it at cities once, but I need more Chiarus.

I never said Absol wasn't good. I said Claydol's apperance and then Uxie made it take a step back from what it was once was. It's best combo was Scramble and that's gone. So many great different players like Steve Silvestro and BigChuck01 used it with Empoleon and Magmortar respectively but that was when Scramble was around, and before Claydol appeared.

Now the other card you mentioned, Uxie is also a good counter to it. Any deck with Absol is good, and could get you into top cut if your lucky. But I don't see it going too deep beyond top cut, and I wouldn't like to rely on much more luck then there already is in the game to beat my opponent. Then I also wouldn't be satisfied with just making top cut. So to the player who likes luck base decks, and POSSIBLY only making top cut, sure go ahead use Absol. But for the rest of us, Absol is a bad play, not a bad card.

I will point out, that in addition to being a disruptive "starter," that Absol is a good Gengar finisher if you run darkness or multi energy. He does 70+ with weakness for 1 the turn you drop him ... and if he gets KOed by fainting spell it's not a big deal.

upon further review, you don't NEED the absol simply because your gonna one shot him anyways, and then more than likely follow up with another voltage shoot or another attack. He is still a good card don't get me wrong, but raichu needs to go first to set up the first double shot. I would suggest sableye, and that way like I stated earlier, you can wager to disrupt if you need to, and if you don't set up your stuff quickly.

I would also add 1 more G and run the MT raichu simply because burst ball is so energy intensive it should really only be used for a finish. 2-1 sounds right.

That's why I haven't seen a single Absol since Claydol came out. It can disrupt but at what price? Giving up a prize? Not setting up as fast/consistent as your opponent. It's just not worth it. Come on Vegeta I thought you would be smarter then that.

Actually... my mom used absol at the first br everybody from my league went to and she beat my league leader with absols disruption in the first round, he [my league leader] quit pokemon 2 weeks later.

I'm missing something. I thought Absol became completely useless when we got a basic who allowed you to just laugh at Absol and draw more for the damage they were doing to your hand (Uxie). I thought the amount of search to get Claydol and Uxie would warrant this card useless.

4 Turns before you can Raichu Lv X your opponent, which means if they get Dol out T2-3 (not hard even with Absol eating your hand), you just completely wasted your time and gave your opponent more draw.

You can kill it easy, but considering how Raichu Lv X deals subpar damage AT BEST when not attacking during the turn it Lv'd up, you get one big bang then a bunch of fizzle.

Unless I am missing something, this is a failed concept. Nice idea, but failed.
