Rairay (Suggestions for a better name please!) -DP-on format

Dear forum members,

I love Electric decks and have previously posted many different Electivire and Raichu based decks. One of the other electric fans in my league today turned me onto Luxray and I was really impressed when I saw the Luxray version coming out in the next set, Legends Awakened. I think the strategy of this deck is pretty obvious--power up with Raichu, discard with Raichu or LA Luxray, get your energies back with either Rotom or Night Maintenance, and also take advantage of both Luxio and LA Luxray's free retreat. The beauty of DP Raichu is that theoretically there is no limit to its attack power depending upon how many energies you are able to attach. I kept the trainer line simple with Felicity Drawing being the key card so you can get Lightning energies in the discard pile. I also want to play 3 Warp Points instead of the usual 2 because of the lack of sniping ability and to take advantage of DP Luxray' energy transfer ability. As always, comments and suggestions welcome--please, however, limit suggestions to adding DP-on format cards--I am trying to build a next season tournament legal deck.

If this Pokemon uses Voltage Shoot on the turn it Levels Up, afterward this Pokemon can attack 1 additional time (and only once). This Body stops working it this Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition

It looks okay, I like the Raichu Tactic (The Raichu from Mysterious Treasures). You should add one more rare candy though and get rid of the extra Shinx. Also, you should try putting in Electrikes and Manectrics (The MD Manectric has free retreat but the D&P Manectric seems to be good too.) You should have 4 Night Maintenance in your deck IMO. About the TGW, if you like using them that's cool but you should substitute them for switches since you have warp points (if you want to divert your opponent). Overall, your deck isn't bad but I hope my advice will help.

Cubone - I love the idea of Raichu Level X but I think he is not coming until Novemebr at the earliest.

Snorlax Dude - Thanks for the advice but I worry that I have too many lines as it is but if one of them didn't work, I would consider trying Electrike/Manectric. I am hoping I won't need 4 Night Maintnenace if I am able to salvage most of the lightning energy in the discard pile via Rotom.

P.S. For fellow electric deck fans, won't it be a pleasure to see G&G go away after September once their precious DRE and Scramble are rotated out!

Dear rerisephoenix,

Actually this deck has only one of the new sets cards so far, LA Luxray:

Luxray LV.51 – Lightning – HP120
Stage 2 – Evolves from Luxio

Poke-Body: Rivalry
If your opponent has any Pokemon LV.X in play, all of this Pokemon's attacks do an additional 50 damage to any Active Pokemon.

[C][C] Plasma: 40 damage. Attach 1 Lightning Energy card from your discard pile to Luxray.
[L][L][C] Shock Bolt: 100 damage. Discard all Lightning Energy attached to Luxray.

Weakness: Fighting (+30)
Resistance: Steel (-20)
Retreat: 0

Still would welcome some input from the forum on ways of making it even a better deck.

Sorry for not posting the translation of the DP5 card.

Need dusknoir and more wagers.

Well for the non-electric deck fans seeing DRE and scramble go will be quite sad. Anyway as to not go off topic, good deck especially with the possible rise of Empoleon decks due to the influx of Infer/Typh and Mag/Typh you should find a few favorable match ups and to disagree with Brian, the Duskys are not necessary in the deck and just take up 2 unnecessary spaces. Also + 1 Shinx -1 Felicity's Drawing as you really don't need the extra help putting energies in the discard as Raichu and Luxray will take care of that themselves. Just my opinions, (as for names perhaps, Lightning storm, or the Dischargers)

Appreciate the advice. A thought looking at the Pokebeach LA spoilers, would Cynthia's plan be a better supporter in this deck than Team Galactic's Wager--it can have a similar benefit without the drawback of potentially letting your partner draw 6 new cards.

BTW, after I test it tomorrow I will edit my deck list--I am going to try to speed up the deck by removing Baltay, Claydol, and 1 Rotom.
