Rare Candy from Stage1 to Stage 2

If i just have evolved from Basic to Stage 1 (normally), can i then use Rare Candy to evolve further? Or first useing the Rare Candy and then evolve Further?

But if i evolve a Basic Pokemon to a Stage 1 with Rare Candy, can i then evolve again the same turn to a Stage 2?

If you read Rare Candy, it says that you use it on a Basic (unevolved) Pokemon.
So, no.
