At E3 this year, Harmonix announced the next title in the popular Rock Band series, Rock Band: The Beatles. the game will cover the Beatles career all the way up to the band's disbanding. I personally think that having a RB game based on the Beatles isn't really a ROCK BAND game. The Beatles are not really a rock band in my opinion, they're a band that started the rock genre but aren't not rock themselves. Most reviews that are out as of now are only based on what the trailer has given, and are most negative as far as gameplay is concerned. So, now that you've heard my side and the reviewer's side, what is your opinion on how the new RB game will turn out?
 
AFAIC, the Beatles are the first true rock band. They were the first complete band not named after their front man to adequately perform rock and roll, and their presence is still being felt today, and will continue to be felt until rock dies. I haven't played the game yet, I just hope that it does this brilliant rock band justice.

Yes the Beatles are a "Rock Band", but don't really fit the "Rock" genre that games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero utilise. I personally don't care for the Beatles either way, but I am going to say that having a game with soft songs coming out after a game with songs like "Blinded by Fear" and "Are You Dead Yet?' isn't really going to help the franchise's reputation. The same thing happened with GH: WT, the list had a good number of soft, poppy music that made die-hard fans hate the game. And when RB: Beatles comes otu the same might go for many RB fans as well.
 
One of two things will happen:

One, this game will totally excede the crappy expectations for a Beatles RB(not dissin The Beatles, they will be one of the greatest bands of all time), blowing everyone away and giving the younger part of this generation Beatles Mania,

OR,

It will totally suck, probably worse than expected, and RB will scramble to get back on track after such a humiliating loss.

or something totally different
 
After watching the game play trailer, I think the game looks awesome! But I also like the Beatles, and I love playing Rock Band, so I am sure that I will enjoy the game! I plan on picking it up on 09/09/09.
 
I'm actually excited about this. I'm a pretty big fan of The Beatles. I believe this game will do well in both pleasing fans and attracting new ones. Sure, the game won't have many heavy songs, but IMO, they will still be great songs. The Beatles could be classified under different things. I think that they are sort of classic rock. Anyway, I hope this game is good.
 
i can't wait for it, i love the beatles so much. is it coming out for wii. if it is, i am going to try to ask my dad if we can buy the bonus set w/ ringo's drums and paul's bass, and then go buy john's guitar (not dissin' george, but only me, my sis, and bro are playing, and this is as close as i am getting to my dream instrument, and lefty hofner beatle bass)
 
meh, do i want Metallica for GH, or Beatles from RB....Beatles RB sounds boring and not very challenging. Listening to is fine, just not playing the simple guitar chords.
 
ya, i want you (she's so heavy) is a simple guitar chord. they dubbed over this 7TIMES to get all the guitar in it.

Tis true. I think I would actually rather play The Beatles. Especially if any 'St. Anger' or 'Load' songs are on the Metallica game.

Why not get both? GH Metallica has been out for a couple months, and RB Beatles doesn't come out for another 3.
 
Oh wow, 1 song dubbed 7 times. I want a challenge, not ONLY a sing a long.

Example: fire and the flames, expert
Its an extreme challenge, love beating it, love singing along.

Beatles won't be a great challenge, just a sing a long.
 
^ Indeed. I knew it has been out, just don't have it, and haven't bothered to look.
From the link, it looks like a pretty good setlist...... Meh. Both sound fun. Whatever.

IT TOOK 3 DARN GUITARS 7 DUBS TO GET IT, AND IT'S ABOUT 8 MIN LONG!!!!!!
