There are a lot of players who love to 'bling' out their decks. If they were cards that don't come in a different holo version, then they might be in high demand. Problem is most of the played cards have been getting reprints as shinies for that very reason, so there aren't a lot of cards that are popular that don't have a 'bling' version. We've got golden Catcher, FA Supporters, shiny ultra ball, etc. Float Stone, maybe? Plasma Energy?

I prefer a pin personally. Not that the figures are bad, but I buy these types of things for the cards, if I buy them at all. I can show off and advertise my love of Pokemon A LOT better with a pin than I can a figurine.

To me this feels more like it is aimed at TCG players rather than Pokemon fans that happen to play the TCG, and I love that.

Most/all of the figures were available in Japan through non-TCG stuff, I don't think Kaiyodo has made a Genesect that they could have used yet.

(I'm not sure if they just have to use their creations, but they could have used the Red Geno for the WiiU Skylanders game if not. That would have been a neat cross-promotion)
