Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Red Sox lead series 2-0; Game 3 Saturday @ Coors Field

The Rockies only won because they have Chuck Norris on their side.

And btw, they are the only team ever to start the playoffs with a 7-0 record.

For those who don't know, the Rockies were on the brink of elimination until the Padres "buckled." The Padres were 1 out away from clinching (and eliminating the Rockies) until the Brewers "banged" a home run to beat them. Then, in the 1-game playoff with the Padres, at the bottom of the 13th inning, down by 2, with 2 outs, the Rockies rallied for the win.

When you play the Rockies, it aint over until the fat lady sings.

Rockies stats:

- Best defense in the majors
- MVP candidate
- Rookie of the Year candidate
- 21/22 since September
- First team to sweep their way to the World Series since the Reds
- Hottest team in baseball right now!

Now that my first HATE is out of the playoffs, it's time for my second HATE to get eliminated.

Red Sox, take down the Indians. It won't happen, but it'll be GREAT if it does.

Then, you get another Florida/NY matchup, big spenders vs the little guys. I love these series!!!

Yeah, didn't the Red Sox pay 8-9 figures for some Japanese pitcher, who hasn't produced lately?

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I didn't think Chuck Norris played games where the men wear "caps" and always want to "go home."

Colorado is already home to the POKEMON national champion.

Not long before it will be home to the BASEBALL national champions.

Both AL teams are really scary, however I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a team as lucky and as good right now as the Rockies are. It really wouldn't surprise me if they swept the World Series.

Go Boston! They probably will not get out of this big 3-1 hole, but Indians are a really deserving team anyway.

Rockies are a pretty good team, would not be surprised if they won the World Series. All the semi-final teams deserved the World Series (poor Diamondbacks) but only the best will win it.

Indians win, and go to the series.

Rockies win the series 4-2.

Being from California, I'd like 2 C the Rocks pull one out for the West...

It's Rocks vs Soxs! Two hot teams! Soxs have been hot for days. Rockies have been hot for weeks. Someone's hot streak will end on Wednesday night!

With the 9 day layoff, I doubt the Rockies will be able to continue their blistering pace. Couple that with Beckett starting game 1 on full rest and it's at Fenway, and I think that the Sox will take that game...

The layoff effect is an unknown.

In one sentence you say "rest" is bad. In the next you say "rest" is good. Typical one-sided oppinion. What's bad for me is good for you!

Lest you forget, the Rockies beat the Red Sox at Fenway this season, including Beckett, 2 games out of 3. And that was BEFORE the Rockies got hot.

BTW, that was JoshB's first loss of the season. It was the Rockies who ended someone's winning streak.

Here's the box score for that game:

So, try again...

The Indians pulled out one of the saddest series in the game. Going from a three game win in a row, to a three game loss to the Sox? I saw that game last night and nearly cried. 2007 was the year of heartbreak for Cleveland sports. First, the Cavs losing in a sweep, and now the Indians.

There's rest, then there's layoff. Pitchers need to go on full rest. You almost never see a pitcher go out on 3 days rest. 4 days rest is rare. 5 days is the norm. The Rockies have 9 days down right now. Want an example of too much rest? Go back to the Tigers of last year. Or the Buckeyes of just 9 months ago. Both were looking very powerful going into their extended downtime, both were beaten by teams who had less downtime than they did.

The Rockies are a VERY streaky team. Remember that, before their current streak, they were barely a .500 ballclub. My personal feeling is that they were winning pretty much on pure adrenaline and grit more than anything else. 9 days of downtime is more than enough time to lose your adrenaline and momentum. The Red Sox are coming off a tough 7 game series where they left their hearts on the field. They have incredible momentum. They have their playoff ace going on full NORMAL rest. They have their entire pitching staff set up exactly how they want it going. I think that it will be Red Sox in 5, but I would *LOVE* to see the Rockies take it at home with the Broncos playing on the same night.

I don't doubt the Red Sox are good. In fact, they were the team I picked to face the Rockies.

But, I still don't understand your flawed logic about when rest is good and when it is bad. Idle, meaningless talk. Ask just about any manager which is better; more rest or less. Any manager will tell you more. It's the clueless, after-game, "arm chair" managers who don't really understand this concept.

And, as far as momentum is concerned, no one has more right now than the Rockies.

Home field advantage and road trip toughness are about even. I see this series slightly in favor of the Red Sox. But, that may be the Red Sox's biggest draw back. If they take the Rockies for granted, they'll be hurting.

I won't predict anything until I see the first game. Nevertheless, I have EXTREME confidence in my Rockies overcoming enormous odds. They've "more than" proved that ability already.

lol. theres only one fall classic. there's only one october.

oh. and p.s. las vegas has picked the red sox to be 2-1 favorites.
Great. Time to make some money. Some local guy bet 500:1 way back that the Rockies would make the World Series. He's "rolling in the dough" today.
