Regigigas Lock; It Ain't Dead Yet

Ok, the Cursegar thing makes more sense now. thanks for giving more insight onto that.

You have to sacrifice every turn vs. jumpluff pretty much. they hit for 80-90, then you either sacrifice or get ko'd (possibly for 2 prizes as well), so of course sacrificing is the better option (sacrifice means you can re-use what you sacrifice via pokemon rescue as well). jumpluff can also use regi move to get a cheap last prize.

I don't know what jumpluffs you were playing against, but jumpluff is going to hit the field before regigigas can attack 90% of the time. Jumpluff might occasionally "whiff" on a jumpluff but usually they are far enough in front for it not to matter.

and what do you think of chatot g in this deck? I mentioned it last post and you may have missed it.

Working backward...
It's funny cuz now that I'm retiring the deck I've been batting around ideas of things I'd like to mess around with in the list. Among good rod and pokedrawer +, chatot g is on the list.
As for jumpluff. I don't want to get into a major debate about it but I stand by the fact that I have yet to lose to Jumpluff. If I don't destroy their set up with let loose and psychic bind, we trade prizes and I wind up taking the last one, especially if they belt to kill me. I've gotten pretty good at keeping my bench to 3-4 when needed and they can't regi move when bound. Not to say the matches haven't been nerve wracking but I simply don't really stress over pluff.
As for cursegar, happy to help.

Well, technically, I've never lost to a Regigigas with jumpluff. i don't think that is really an argument.

getting out mespirits and giratinas without sacrificng your own set-up early isn't easy. usually they will get out a pluff BEFORE you can let loose/mespirit them, and even if you do, they can use Chatot to help stabilize their set-up.

Meh...I will admit that all my matches that I don't blow up my opponent's set up aren't cake walks. My last regionals match against pluff came down to 2-1 prizes and I had to skip a sac to afford one next turn to KO her pluff. She had a full bench (no ice cuz i'd drug it off earlier) and my plan wound up working. Passed with damage still on me, she couldn't OHKO me and I sacced off the damage next turn to get energy on me for a gigablaster KO. Bound, she could only attempt to stall me out with a shaymin, but I not only flipped tails, but flashed her my warp point I was planning to use to reset blast for my last prize.

I'm split on the pluff match. If you say you have yet to lose to Gigas with it, I'm not going to doubt you. With my record against it I'm left to leave it to both of us having experience in our decks over our opponents or a 50-50 matchup. I really dunno how to call it.

Are you playing it with Shaymin, Luxray or both?

Regi has the edge over pluff...we were never worried about pluff at regs well i was i ended up playin pluff XD As regi only worried about obviously donphan, machamp and luxchomp w/driftblims. That match up always gets kinda close >.>

My friend and me agrue about using sableye as starter. Have you tried it? just to finish the argument lol

NOOOOOOOOOO ._.

Honestly though I'm not so sure. It gives you a guaranteed Roseannes T1, but my biggest worry would be that it would slow you down in the end. I mean you can't attack with it and I wouldn't waste time adding the energy unless I were using rainbows.

Overall I just don't really like the idea...You're better off with Call Energy

Definitely no 4 Sableyes. It's something that takes too much room for the essentials.

But I'm pondering with 1 Sableye, along with Collectors. Gives you a decent option against Sablelock or other powerlock if you get a Collector/Roseanne/Communication/Dual ball (!) in. Gigas generally does nothing on T1 even if going second, so Collectoring Unown Q/Mesprit + Sableye + X (Giratina? Gigas?) can greatly disrupt your opponent's start.

I think that when playing 4 Sableyes it's not beneficial if you're not investing in the donking possibility with Overconfident (disregarding Gyarados, although I've seen builds with Dark Energy), and this deck really can't play dark energies to make Overconfident even remotely useful on T1.

Another thing to add to a mile long list of possible pokémon techs.

And, about Chatot G; my States build played Slowking, which - when got in play - pretty much won any game (Controlled topdeck discarding, controlled opponent's draw in powerlock - this thing is like Plox and Flytrap combined). The problem was getting Slowking in play, 2 turns and one bench space without Sacrificing possibility is usually too much when trying to maintain the lock. Chatot G is a faster alternative, just have something other for M2 counter.

I'd test the lock engine with Sableye, Giratina, Initiatives and Chatot G. It's lethal in Sablelock, and while Gigas doesn't have sprays, it has hand discarding and Mesprits.

well we tried a million versions. while a friend prefers the rush version still i like the sableye version more. its less dependent on claydol, your starting with either regi or sableye most of the time meaning t3 regi at the least every game but with mespirit sableye gives a very solid lock.
My agruement is even with rush, at best ya getting punches in t2. With sableye you get them t3 all the time, much more consistant and you disrupt their start even more making a big regi with a belt hard to take down.

I play with Luxray X, no shaymin.

but that's cool. i personally think the match-up is very close.

pluff wasnt that close. regi has the def advantage over it. power lock and take a quick few prizes. Its always kinda close in prizes but with regi always in control...not that hard...i rather always face pluff then luxchomp if i were to choose.

Just made a version of this deck (very similar to yours). I actually found that gyarados was probably my worst matchup so far.

Welcome to regigigas. Gyarados is a 50/50 shot depending on who does what and how quickly. If you can start disrupting them and lock them down fast enough they can't do anything, but if they can get off a G-Dos, you're a lil pressed. The best approach from that point on is to let loose and bind when needed. This kind of bouncing back and forth is something you only get with legitimate practice...Personally, I play the match VERY slowly...I'd rather analyz everything and utilize all I have to the best of my abilities than misplay and cost me the game.

Having played this deck at NATIONALS (Albeit a slightly altered variety), I can safely say that the biggest problem for the deck is the insane amount of horrid hands one can have. Aside from that, its an amazing deck.

Yeah, I've been teching 2 judge just for the g'dos matchup.

The reason why Gigas' match up is so good against luxchomp is because the damage output for gigas is so much higher than theirs. While you have the option of being able to one shot everything in the deck they have to 2-3 shot gigas at best.
