One last question. This is more of a personal nitpick than anything, but can we swap an older print of a card for a reprint, if we have it, for free (i.e. not one out, one in)? Example: Replace Base Set DCE with one pulled during from the birthday packs.

Question: Alph Lithograph's rarity is? Does it counter as a Level 6, Level 3, or something else? Thanks!

~Cardz.

EDIT: Also, can we trade rotated cards of similar rarity for legal cards? This is pretty relevant to my trade scheme...mwahaha and such...

Alphs are "secret rares"

I'm not really answering how-to-trade questions. I have everything posted TWICE up there.

I think your numbers contradict each other, RA. Is a card with a set number of 11 a rare, or a holo?

Fixed. Thanks. :thumb:

Can we use cards we took out of the deck last round that were Modified-Legal?

Again. Cards you can use are listed up there like.. twice.

One quick question: when offering Jonathan help on Task 3 ("explain your changes to Jonathan so he'll know how to play his deck"), is it already assumed that he knows how to play his final list from round two? The narrative established quite strongly that Jonathan hates Arceus now, but there's still some uncertainty as to whether he "gets" the other nuances of the list that he didn't show frustration with.

That interpretation is at your descretion. Interpreting info you're given is part of the challenge.

If I say anything beyond that, I'd be coaching you on what to do..

EDIT: Loop in the time-space continuum here, but clarification on kscott's question...That basically means we can double up on any binder cards we used for round two, right?

You can 1) read the rules or you can 2) read INTO the rules.

Choose a lane and hope it's a safe path.

EDIT 2: Ugh, keep thinking of things. What's the competitor cutoff for this round?
[/quote]

That's listed in the original post (near the top)

That's what prompted me to ask it, as I started doubling up immediately before realizing I had already added the cards last turn. I think R_A's response implies that we're responsible for checking what we already added from the Binder so that we don't add it twice. I read it as

So, you're asking me if it's ok to break the laws of metaphysics and conjure two virtual cards from one lone existing card???

again..

That interpretation is at your descretion. Interpreting info you're given is part of the challenge.

Kid Zero only trades to get MD-on.

HEY... there are NO PODS!!!

wow... I just realized that...

OK... CHANGING THE PM TITLE TO "ROUND #" and no POD # then.

*ugh*

SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:

SUBMISSION RULES CHANGE TO THIS:

  • 1. ROUND# in the PMs Title. (there are NO PODS this round)
  • 2. Your FINAL list after the changes (if you include your original list, you will be DQ'd)
  • 3. A list of what was added and what was taken out. (explain your changes. TEACH THE KID!)
  • 4. A list of WHERE your "new cards" came from. (i.e. "from Trade" or "from binder" or "Birthday Packs" )
  • 5. If you got cards through the trade. I need a list of trades (i.e. "Got Snorlax 14 for Arceus AR1).

OK, my one big question was answered. I can't go trading my big, expensive Pokemon-Star to Kid Zero like I could in the last one. This is gonna make trading much more interesting...

Oh yeah. Another big question. Does Jonathan still have the cards that we took out of his round 2 deck? There are some things in there that would be HIGHLY valuable for trades in this round. Thx!

Didn't mean a trade, I meant altering the decklist. Such as, take out Base Set DCE, add in HS DCE, does that count as swapping a card, even if it's the same "card"?

Since this is a spirit of the game contest, would we lose points if we rip the kid off? (Ampharos prime for luxray gl x)

K, my #s 1 and 2 are cleared up.

Re #3 though: I may be blind, so if I"m missing it sorry, but I don't see where it says how many of us move on to round 4.

Giving Luxray X to Jonathan is like giving a million bucks to a toddler.

JUST SAYING.

Note: And I have experience with this. I personally pulled a Luxray X from my Rising Rivals box and traded it away immediately. I had been a master playing (at States level!) for 9 months by then.

Well that was just an example to put moer emphasis on the ripping part. I was going to trade like an ampharos prime for leafeon lv x which I would actually use this round.

Okay.

I guess I should have wondered how someone would get to round 3 if they were going to put a Luxray X into his deck... ^^'

Hi all.

Same card for same card is not going to count towards your change total. Good question.

If you're trading according to the guidelines, you're not ripping the kid off. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

At this point, there's no PODs. So, then I score them all and determine a CUT LINE... just like in the last round.

Cut line is based on percentages.

Good question.

I'll repeat my question...

Does Jonathan still have the cards that we took out of his round 2 deck? There are some things in there that would be HIGHLY valuable for trades in this round. Thx!

Depends on where you put them...lol

That info is buried in the instructions. So... that one is for you to figure out.

Hi

just some questions:

Are we still allowed to use the energies from the theme decks in Round1?

If we get cards by trading do they have to be used?

Does MD-on include the older cards that are allowed to be played, or is Kid Zero sticking only to new cards?

Only new cards. Base set DCE, for instance, is Modified-legal, but clearly not MD-on. If RA had meant to include reprints, in a contest like this, he would have used the technically correct term.
