TURN IT INTO A DECK !

Note: Those 3 theme decks, League Promos (2 Butterfree FB and 2 Warp Point), and those random pulls listed above are the ONLY card the kid owns.
Jerry is an 11 year old that has only been playing for 4 weeks.
He's a straight A student and reads on a 7th grade level.

During each league session, his dad always sits next to him, watches-on and reminds him about various deck strategies that they've practiced while playing at home.

Dad started playing 4 weeks ago as well, but the two play together at home rather enthusiastically.

Dad has a modified Unleashed "Steel Sentinel" Theme Deck.

Jerry will truly benefit from some good coaching.

PM SHOULD INCLUDE:

PM SUBJECT: ROUND # (1 PM limit)
1. Final List
2. Strategy
3. Your T-shirt size -- just to be certain I have it right!

This is one Engineer's Adjustments, and one Zubat, both UL, right?

EDIT: Platinum: Arceus's Stormshaper uses Gulpin AR66 and Swalot AR09, not 19 and 40. You seem to have Levels for the Arceus Pokemon, not set number.

Second the above question:

Also, which Arceus is the one in the theme deck? Is it the Lightning one or the Psychic one? Thanks!

~Cardz.

PS. I have a feeling I'm gonna suck at this challenge. I had to do something similar to this a couple weeks ago at my league and really jsut flailed for a bit before throwing something close to 60 cards together...fail...

I'm assuming it means that he's a pretty clever 11 yo who has terrible luck with opening packs

This round is going to be very tough.

Good luck everyone!

Hi,

i have 2 questions:

1. How much time do we get?

2. does the pupitar from the deck have the set number 38?

It's Pupitar #38 (Boost Gas) and the fun Larvitar #50 (Mountain Eater).

ALL Pokes are from the set of their perspective theme decks. So, UL.

Thanks. I deleted the "level" numbers to avoid confusion. (I got the list from bulbapedia).

Lightening

Could you possibly be a bit more specific here? I'm homeschooled, and have no idea what that means.

This.. is answered here:

Thanks :thumb:

1. (DUE FRIDAY, SEPT. 24, 2010)
2. I took off those numbers; they were wrong.

The correct cards are listed here:

It's Pupitar #38 (Boost Gas) and the fun Larvitar #50 (Mountain Eater).

Those are both correct. Thanks AGAIN! :thumb:

Clarifying my question, addressing your typo:

  • UL EngineUL Zubat 070
We have access to both cards, right?

YAY! This was my favorite round from last year. Love having zero restrictions on the intelligence of the player I'm helping ^_^! I'll have a look at the cards I've got in a few minutes, but this sounds interesting ^_^!

Agreed. I'll take more limited cards to limited changes any day of the week. Except if they're limited to uselessness, which this set isn't.

Wow I love it to be able to make a NEW deck, it would have been annoying to change the Meganium Deck again....
Darkmot.

Just sent my List and Strategy....
AND guys there are some GREAT cards to work with and remember it doesn't matter how good your list works, it matters how good you are able to increase the know-how of Jerry!
Darkmot.

Sent mine in. There were probably a ton of opportunities to be creative with this round. But I went a very traditional route for me.

Will there be some public feedback for this round, RA? I think a lot of the fun of competitions like this is seeing what other people do with the same restrictions, and I really don't mind if ppl get to see what I've been doing. It's not like my decks are overly complex or anything like that...

This would be great and I think, that nobody would say no to this....

It really is fun to see what other people have done.

We could do something new this round and let the CONTESTANTS vote on other entries!
Just put up each one anonymously and let people rank them 1 - 25.

Then you could see everyone's reaction to your work.

I could still score them and average the two scores (contestant compiled score + my score / 2)

What do you think about that idea?

Forget the /2, just make it out of 50. You can decide whether it should only be contestants judging these, or if anybody can (I prefer contestants only). And do this double blind by locking the topics and requiring PMs to get the score. Dock those that don't score the other lists. Stuff like that.
