Yeah, I'd go, but I'm not going if it means missing the pre-release
Some feel they must have the prerelease now,,, Most seem to be opting for the bigger event. Renee,s! Mostly because the desire is to start challenging the state and global rankings. If you go to pokemon-tcg.com ,,,,,,,,,and look up rankings you will see that the rest of the country has had about a 2 months head start. The nov 8th in fort lauderdale,, nov 9 in hollywood, and the nov 15 in orlando are all sanctioned events. Those attending all 3 will get a good catch up. At the same site you can also look up the tournaments in florida and see that these are the only sanctioned events right now. however,,, no matter where you go,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am sure both the events on the 15 th will be just fine.

Not true BK. Planning for the EX: Dragon Prerelease was going on as far back as the EX: Sandstorm Prerelease, however not public until Pokemon-TCG.com released the dates and locations for the Orlando Prerelease on Saturday, October 25th. Pokeschool has the announcement the day of the public release: http://www.pokeschool.com/news/old/october03news.asp#031025_2

However advertising for both Florida Prereleases started October 20th seeing as how I personally added the information to the official event websites (PokemonFlorida/GameFlorida). Renee announced her event publically on October 25th at 7:08am via email. This is the contents of this letter:

November 15th: Coliseum of Comics will be hosting a tourney to celebrate the newest release from Pokemon, the exDragons Set! There will be a Modified Tourney, and side events will be run based on how many people register. Registration will start at 9am and play will begin at 11am. This will give plenty of time for people to arrive. We can also do pre-registration, just email me for details.
Renee'

When I questioned Mrs. Martinez why she scheduled the tournament the same day and city of the official EX: Dragon Prerelease, she stated that not enough of her league members attended the last two premiere events, that we did not provide her tournament results (which is currently posted on the PokemonFlorida site), and she felt that her efforts to promote these premiere events were going unappreciated... was she expecting compensation? I do not know. Only time I ever receive compensation was when I judged Renee's Super BattleZone and Heidi's Premiere Events. Outside of that, my contributions to the community, as with others, are unrewarded. I work on websites and assist players out of my own free time and pocket money.

If you get anything out of this reply, please understand that Coliseum of Comics South Orlando and the Prerelease location is only 12 miles away from one another. Feel free to verify this, find the Knights of Columbus Orlando and Coliseum of Comics South Orlando on expedia or something else.

It's not that hard to reschedule a small tournament. I'm sure players could start jogging to the Prerelease location if they only have transportation to the Coliseum, twelve miles builds character.

Thanks so much for your view gym leader phil. Its true that both events are close and on the same day. That is too bad for sure. The prerelease has many advantages and should do just fine. Seeing that renee, myself, doug, and jeff brodeur already offered our support to renee,, we felt obligated to go. Our combined groups represent close to 150 people! That being the facts, maybe more can be done to co-ordinate events in the future so that yours does not suffer. What ever the issues are,,,,,, it can always can be worked out by pokemon faithful. You have my email, you can at anytime contact me,,, since all of the above people are using me to post their events. True, I was late posting this event,,, sorry to all,, I was moving all month. Please continue to keep it positive and encourage the game,,, isnt that what we all want?

Presently,, we are having discussions with hiedi Craig in order to repair the issue. All wanting to attend either event should go,, because it now appears there is a fix in the works. This fix is a direct result of the serious commitment Mrs. Renee Martinez has toward the game. Her and mrs. craig will be working out the issues and announcing a fix. Look for the announcement here. As for the many issues being spawned by the less mature in our midst,,, I have no mud to return. All those who truly love the game will unite around the solution that is given. This solution at the moment resides in the hands of these 2 fine tournament organizers. Thanks

great expression!

And I'm 100% positive that Hiedi and Miss Renee will take care of the problem splendidly.
Look forward to seeing as many as I can in Orlando! No matter what happens.

So, I'm gonna have to be at the Dragon's Lair at 6:30 am Saturday. That means I'll have to wake up at 4-ish, eat breakfast, dress, pack up, and leave the house at around 5. Best to get there early.

Maybe I should bring my Game Boy Advance to pass the time?

OK everyone,we have about had it with a few certain groups coming on here and ripping into others and insulting them.We will be dealing with these incidents(boardwise) soon.In the meantime,if anyone further posts anything that insinuates or otherwise insults, they will be immediately given a loss of posting rights and will be decided if we should make it permanent.

These boards are NOT for slamming (flaming) people. We all know this is how it`s always been since day one.

I wasnt overseeing them , so I didnt keep track, but at another tournament I paid $15 and got a couple of boosters for third once.. Here I paid $5 and got 6 boosters for fourth! Plus 6 promo cards and to comic books. Cool huh!

PRETTY COOL! What kind of boosters did you get?

Then WHY are others allowed to insinuate? Why, Sensei, are other posts going unedited? The ripping and insults started bubbling up not for my own pleasure... what would be my motive? I asked the staff to edit out other's insinuating comments, Pop did that. But I come on here and still read false comments? I should never have to continuously report reply after reply after reply of comments that are false and misleading, otherwise, I might as well be moderating these forums myself.

It is not worth the hassle of listening to comments clearly insinuating that "I paid $15 for a prerelease, but got more cards here for $5" and "maybe more can be done to co-ordinate events in the future so that yours does not suffer" or "So and so is sanctioned, the others are not sanctioned". Do you know what co-ordinate means? It means going behind my back to offer the Tournament Organizer this proposition:

"Hey, if you drop Phil from your judging staff, we'll all support your events."

Co-ordinating or blackmail?

Here's the big problem: We have four groups of people.

-Those who are under contracts who cannot comment on the problem.

-Pokemon OP who will not take action against organizers/professors spreading the propaganda.

-A few certain independent tournament organizers and professors who have been spreading the propaganda.

-Everyone else in the community with wide open ears.

When I wake up in the morning, open my email or recieve a call telling me that so-and-so is threatening so-and-so with a lawsuit dealing with slander generated on this very board or if I walk into a building an individual will "rip me apart", the last thing I want to see is severe misinterpretations on this board that nobody points out because anyone who does know the truth from the lies is not stepping up or can not break their impartial status.

For a community who worked together to break the tyranny of the 15+ ban, one can not see past the veil. People caused that ban, as did people did this situation. If one cannot bring up the conflict publically, as the conflictors have done already, there is nobody to turn to. Everyone is mute, POP and those under contract, except for those spreading the problems.

If I can no longer point out the bad things going on in the community, like we used to be able to do on the older unbiased PokeGym throughout all its versions, thanks for all the support. You know how much I've supported this board and community, I've done everything in my power to spread the word about it. It seems though that ever since a topic was deleted without any warning nor without any conflict with the rules, the transition from corporation to independant is truly complete. If any view that does not represent or one that should stir up the perfect utopian society that some here are trying to create, the person is punished, while others following in the same footsteps of the person before him on another topic is unnoticed. The point I'm trying to make it this: it is free to bash those not here, but any comment directed towards any member here is taken with great offense. What is the difference?

But forget all of that, most people will never bother to even care about this situation, if it's not about me me me, then I have no say in it. Have a great day reading biased replies.
-Phil
