i think this card is going to get a lot of play with the release of the new sets. Plenty of people already run special energies including
Call
Cyclone
Special Dark
Special Metal
Multi
Rainbow....

you get the picture. but with the introduction of the two new sets, Rising Rivals and then after that POTF, the new special energies like upper energy, SP energy and others will be all over the place. Upper energy is this sets version of scramble and it will undoubtadly see a lot of play, so i think this little monster will start getting more play than his grass type big brother...

tell me what you think

I think 80 for 1 on a Stage 1 is reason enough to play at least a 1-1 tech in any deck playing metal/multi/rainbow energy. Tentacruel may even see some play too (so that you can force special energy back onto their main attackers).

does anyone know if darkrai lv. x's body turns the cards into special energy? if so, that would allow this card to destroy ttar

Darkrai Lv.X's Poke-Body doesn't turn the energies into special darks. It just gives them the effect that special darks have.

Another League Leader and I were discussing this same card the other day for the same reasons.

Special energies are being run in everything now days, having something to hit harder based off the specials is a good thing.

wow that wouldnt be a bad deck. you could attach calls or any type of special energy to their main attackers, even on the bench with tentacruel which would set up perfectly for a Scizor sweep. i might have to make that deck and play test it lol

As I say about everything it all depends on what the metagame looks like. 80 damage seems like a lot but if everyone were running dialga with metals that damage wouldn't look so hot if they tanked out.

How about Scizor with Dialga G lvl.X and Tentacruel with Palkia G lvl.X?
Maybe a little too much...but maybe..

Its cute early game to destroy pokemon with Call on them, but I'm not seeing much use for a stage 1 who deals 80 as a tech, even if it is for 1 energy (80 really isn't much...).

how many other cards do 80 for 1........

not to mention it has a solid metagame resitance. a notbale tech that really punishes anything with special energy. and when you consider that alot of SP pokemon are 80 or 90 hp, if you run a couple plus powers or bucks, nice OHKO agaisnt the people running SP energy

Kingdra, Rampardos, both can do a total of 80 regardless of their energy attachments.

Resistance to what? Gengar would simply ignore you since you hit him for 30, Gardevior would Weavile and change type, Toxicroak doesn't CARE about your resistance since it two shots you regardless, am I missing something?

Rampardos does damage to himself if he knocks someone out. Both of your examples are Stage 2s and are much harder to setup. Scizor can also utilize Special Metals to reduce damage, and Kingdra does split damage, which can be good, but is not always better.

Not all GG builds play weavile, and most GOOD builds will be using Upper Energy instead of Weavile. In GeChamp, there is often Multi Energy, so some Gengars do care. Toxicroak 2-shots Scizor, but if it has a special energy, with a PlusPower or Crobat, Scizor OHKOs Croak.

It is a bad idea to base a deck around Scizor, but to have as a backup fighter, he actually is good.

As they said Scizor can't win just by himself. Howeever he ccan make a great 1-1 tech. You can surprise your opponent, and grab your last prize out of nowhere!
