Scorpio! (back from the dead)

^ That's exactly how I feel Aziz. Anyways, I feel this deck is just soo good. and I really like it. Mr. Mime against Kingdra with De-voluter is just so fun to play with =)

Darkrai is two pluspowers in one that takes up a benched slot... I personally do not like it. It's only worht it if they stay asleep and that's not a risk I'd bet a benched spot and deck space on.

Oh boy, I actually have a post that will relate to the topic! So I was looking for a new deck to replace my G&G, and decided to let luck make me a deck. I got a Mewtwo Lv.X and a Gliscor Lv.X in my box, And pulled some Gliscors as well, but no Mewtwos. So Scorpio it is. I read all of the threads previous, and would like to get back on topic about this intriguing deck idea. I would like to get some input on the viability of playing Regirock in this deck. With him and Stark Mountain, you can have an exceedingly fast setup, which is typically desirable. The drawback is that it would fill in a tech spot, so I was wondering which other 'techs' players felt were necessary in order to run this intricate decklist. Please keep me posted on the development of this thread.

In response to the comments about Lanturn/Tentacruel comments, I would imagine with Starrk Mountain out it would not be a wonderful move to be slapping energies indiscriminately.

 This topic is almost getting more talk about Kingdra than the Kingdra threads do.

Speed Wrath with FR techs is about the same as Kingdra in damage essence as it can hit for 60 really fast and keep the beatings on, and I've had very little trouble dispatching Wrath, so I honestly don't see how Kingdra is any different, especially with Lopunny keeping the spread off and Mime soaking the hits.

Wrath is actually a harder match, because unlike Kingdra, it actually has a second attack that can get around Mime, which makes it a bigger threat, Kingdra has to waste 3 energy just to use its one energy attacks, which turns it into a much less useful attack.

I'm not afraid of Kingdra. Theres nothing about it that even remotely impresses me, seeing as I've seen a Wrath deck and a Kingdra deck, and the Wrath was far superior. Oh yeah, and this was a shameful bump.

Mime is not as big a deal as some are making it out to be. Either you load the three energies and dispatch it with a bucks in play, play a poke who ignores bodies like speed deoxy, use a secondary line to snipe the bench, play a warp if another isn't benched or just throw out your own Mime and everyone's on even ground speed wise... ultimately the most consistent deck has the advantage and as long as powers are being used I will draw into the warps etc..... Lopunny does absolutely nothing in the Kingdra match but give your opponent a prize. Against Yanmega yes. Kingdra no. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Scorpio won't win or Kingdra is awesome or anything, but with mime a possible tech in alot of decks, no decent player is going to lose because of that one card. I've always liked a secondary attacker in kingdra that is able to bypass mime and/or finish of Claydol when need be.......I'm just not getting how this is so one sided......

Just curious.
Why is no one playing a 3-3-1 Gliscor/Lv. X line.
is 3-2-2 that much better?
I guess with Azelf you can afford to play that line, but I agree with Quali regardless, Stark and Regirock should be staple

i don't find regirock to be very good. i tried him out once and you don't really need him considering gliscor is very conservative and has low energy costs. i'm sure a time will come where he'll be more usable.. as for now he's great in lucario decks.

Lopunnys aren't as foppish as they appear, I like them an early start, they can draw 3 for free and their 2nd attack is pretty good, 60 for CC. I'm testing the 3-2-2 Gliscor line because it seems nice to have 2 pokemon with 110 HP and one with 80 rather than 1 pokemon with 110 and two with 80.

Mime's not really a big deal, you're right. I just helps massively against Kingdra. Of course it can be played around though.

About Lopunny, it wasnt meant for Kingdra at all. Its for Froslass, Bronzong, Yanmega, Spiritomb, Zapdos, etc. And in does help ton in those matchups. As expected of course.

I really hope we play at a BR Scott. ;]

I would agree with him on this except for the fact that houndoom is a bad tech for magnezone lol. I mean 120 (because u are not going to have fewer benched) and then they 80 you?? KO??? waste of 2 cards and effort to get it out??? waste of getting fire energy??? I think so

See this is what happens when I go away for a few days. Houndoom attacks for :colorless so scorpio's fighting energy works just fine. In fact you don't even have to attach if you have Stark's in play and some nrg on the bench. Two cards effort? Sure. Worth it? Maybe. Return KO? Depends on how much energy Doom takes out of play and if you KOed the level X or not. Doom isn't going to win the Zone matchup by himself but he's an example of one of the little things you can do to change the odds somewhat.

The initial match ups on the front page of this thread are based on general builds and strategies. Techs have not made their way int othe format so if you want a complete match up database, you'd need five to eight different results per match up based on techs. Too much work for no reward IMO.

how would it do vs chomp. cuss in SD thats the new GG. how would it beat rush with heavy hitters?

Totally agree Austin, but truth be told there isn't even a metagame established i.e. any standard decks to compare against. No one really knows what the most successful Kingdra/AMU/Magnevire etc.. decks will even look like. I 'm just concerned how these general comments about matchups are so easily thrown out there by everyone, If I run my Kingdra with mantine/mantyke/palkia and 4 warp, does that mean I'm 80-20 now? I've tested different kingdra builds against double mimes and have done fine. Scorpio is much more than just a mime wall and I actually love the deck.....let's just not get carried away with the notion that Kingdra can't work around some of the obstacles it presents......

Dustin - Of course we'll play...... What's the matchup against Magmorter with 3 Warp???? You don't honestly think Kingdra is my #1 choice? I just like debating with you guys. LOL

While Plox generally goes through Mime because they can't DRE anymore and each require 3 energies to do anything, the issue at hand is much less mime, much more a different tech. I played against someones GG up here and just threw Venomoth at them. Granted, I lost the moth, but they lost the Gallade next turn. Plox itself doesn't do much except shut down Cosmic Power and Gliscor LX's come into play effect, but all you have to do to counteract that is stop the Gardy and wait to use your LX.

New GG/Plox is still a little too slow, and it should be in Scorpio's favor. Not that Plox will see much play with AMU running rampant.
