Searching for Old Amber

I know we are to treat fossils as both trainers, and basic pokemon, but can we use search cards like
Celio's Network and Bebe's Search to retrieve them from our decks?

You can't search for Old Amber because it is NOT a Fossil or has Fossil in it's name.
And it's also still a Trainer when in your deck or discard pile.

In other words....You can't search for Old Amber in any way exept for Kabuto's Poke-Power if I am correct.

No, they are trainers whilst in your hand, deck, discard.

Old Amber is awkward because it is does not have Fossil in its name and thus can not be searched by trainers or pokemon that specify fossil as part of the search criteria.

only a pre-DP series pokemon which could search for trainers could find (like mawile cg)

No, they are trainers whilst in your hand, deck, discard.

And while in play. Old Amber (and Fossils) are ALWAYS Trainer cards, they're just also Pokémon cards when they're in play.

Meh, you need a card that searches out trainers, like Girafarig now. Or stick w/ Holon Fossil...

I figured you couldn't, and it's ok, I'll just get it through Keen eye. lol. (Then I can grab the Aerodactyl
