Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Secret Wonders - OREGON - October 27th, 28th & November 4th

Chet:
are you going to the pre-release? If so, bring that little Gastly figure you're willing to trade me. I'll bring some things for trade. Thanks!!

*sniffle*

Phazon's at home, sick from a flu and pneumonia shot and also catching up on two weeks of studies and five days of missed classes while you guys are having fun. Wah.

Oh, well. I'll live. XD

Oh poor Marvin. Here, you can have the DS that I won at the Portland BR today. OK fine, I won't surrender my new DS that easily.
2 Lv.X is this set?! That is a crime in the TCG world! Barely anyone pulled any Lv.X's. (like 5 or 6 people) It was still an awesome prerelase. Weavile sleeves FTW!

Phazon is surprised and sexified at the thought of Garde Lv. X being released so soon.

Phazon is also annoyed and has sprayed himself with cold water at the thought of Rival being reprinted. -_-

Portland Pre-release

Saturday Oct. 27

Attendance ~ 60
Each age division played 5 rounds (yeah Juniors and Seniors!)

TCG Winners:

Masters: Joel

Seniors: Andrew J.
2nd. Clint A.

Juniors: (sorry don't remember!)

DS tourney: about 20 participated. Perhaps someone will give further details.
Winners:
1st. Kayhon
2nd. [R] Visitor
3rd. Christian S.

In the costume contest I came in 3rd with my Mime Jr. costume. :wink:The competition was tough. I had to compete against cute, dimple-faced kids in grade school. Whew!

Looking at the pairings for round 1 I protested and appealed to the judges saying I was placed in the wrong division for play. I should have been placed in the Junior division. That fell on deaf ears. I even appealed to the head judge BDS, and he said "no way". So, I had to play in the masters division. Gee, my name was Mime JUNIOR for the day! Just as well. I'd get beat by cute, dimple-faced kids in grade school if I were in that division. Instead I just lose to tough teens with way more card sense than I have.

As ususal, a fun and well run tournament. Big thanks to Guardian Games for letting us use their store, for the great door prizes and for the candy they passed out to all players. Thanks to the organizing/judging staff: BDS, June and Chris C. The DS tourney was exciting to watch on PBR on the large screen. Thanks to Chris C. for the great prizes and for hosting this. Thank you to Team Rocket & company for organizing the pairings and for doing all the DS-gameboy stuff I know nothing about. :thumb:

We finished our evening at a Portland Winter Hawks hockey game, so the Corvallis Crew had a full and exciting day.

See you at the Corvallis CC Dec. 1.

Wow, Salem Prerelease was small compared to Portland. Only 10 people were in the DS tournament this time. Surprise, surprise, Charles Dearing won the DS tournament in Salem, with Kylie (I can't remember her last name) coming in second. It was cool seeing new faces in the final round of the DS tournament.

@ [R]visitor, I didn't win a DS tournament this time, so I guess we don't need to take turns anymore.

Can you give us some details on the TCG and the costume contest? Thanks!

I forget his name, but some kid dressed up as Politoad and got first place. We also heard that it was his first time at a tournament as well.
A kid dressed up as Togepi and got second place. I'm sorry, but I suck at remembering names.
However, I do know Anthony C. dressed up as Gengar like last year and he got third place.
I tied for forth place as a Rocket with a captive Darkrai.

Aw, you're jealous. Nice to know that you care.

BTW, in Salem I used a Holloween team for the DS tourney... for 1 round. Crobat, Gengar, and Absol (Me First attack sucks on Absol)

Only one prerelease to go, but I won't be going. I've had enough tournies to last me until Cities, which I will dominate.

That's a severely unflattering picture, I look like a halloween zombie! Perfectly timed, why didn't I win the costume contest?

Can't remember who 1st place name was, but a very charming young man.
2nd place Togepi was Stephen Chenard (sp) I wanted to give him 1st but the guys would'nt let me, they said I was too biased (can't imagine that with Togepi and all ) :frown:
Seriously the Politoed costume was creative and cute

Dude, you used the wrong team entirely!

You should have used Muk, Weezing, and, Crobat in honor of my comical blood puking. :thumb:

Yes, people, shower me with your pity. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH....hACK...HACKHACK....
