Umbreon attacks with "moonlight fang" and does 30 damage to Yanmega. The Yanmega players retreats for dialga G, levels up said pokemon, then plays switch, going back to Yanmega, who has the proper energy attached. The player then announces "sonicboom".
This scenario came up in casual play online, and I wanted to confirm my logic:
The attack fails to have any effect besides ending the Yanmega player's turn because blocking the USE of poke-bodies is not the same as erasing one, and Umbreon's attack effect is looking for what is printed on the attacking card, and NOT what effect said card's body is under.
