Not as badly as a Cessie Lock. That's much worse.

I'll be over here making a GOOD deck with the under-hyped Exploud ex for a while, adios.
 
I think the_sniper' analysis of how good Shiftry ex is, is pretty good. Its a solid card, but its only solid matchups seem to be Metanite and POSSIBLY Ludi. Even then, Ludi drops a BF on its turn and uses powers, and continues to do so untill they are completely set-up. Fire ludi probably punishes you too. I havent tested any decks this season, but Shiftry doesnt seem THAT good.

Amen brother. Its not that hard to beat if you can not use alot of powers (of, if you do, make sure you can use that damage to your advantage).
 
Shiftry ex is kinda pointless now that I think about it. I mean, there are slightly better forms of Power-lock (Cessy, Cham, Delta Pidgeot, blah) out there now, and people will be using fewer Power decks because of that. Without the ability to randomly spread Damage Counters, Shiftry ex just becomes a different version of Raichu ex EM (Rairai's better, IMO).
 
i don't think the fear of shiftry will make less power based decks. i just think like papi/mani said that they just gunna find ways around it or just deal. and even decks without powers shiftry can stil lhurt ( not as great) if built right. and decks without powers will rely on a trainer based setup and will be less consistant hence why dustox and armaldo fair bad ( not against shiftry be the rest of the possible metagame)

It's not a fear of Shiftry, it's a fear of all of the anti-Power stuff out there right now -- which includes Shiftry.
 
what anti powers?
shiftry is a stage two, so it wont come out really quick. infact, the entire deck will need to be made around him for him to be included
cessation crystal is also good, but also overhyped. yes it can hurt decks, but the tool goes away when the pokemon it is equipted to dies. not to mention it doesnt work with pokemon who have powers/bodies that benifit them, so that also limits it
i think the biggest threat we might get with a cessation crystal is with typhlosion uf or with REggs, and those we have been dealing with for several months now
it is giant stump and cursed stone all over again, it isnt changing squat
 
Don't forget Cursed Stone, Shiftry EX itself, and Raichu δ's Zzap attack. Oh yeah, Lunatone and Solrock too.

I will now concede that SHiftry will not change the game or the Meta. HOWEVER! I believe he is an AWESOME card and will b eplaying him whether he breaks the Meta or not.

but i dunno if locking powers can be compared to shiftry, i mean that if you lock powers they do no good to shiftry so there in diffrent leagues really. and most of those power stoppers have body's so its weezing GG. so with weezing damage is spreadable and its able to bead crap decks like chu eggs and Flariados. and why would eggs running Bf and cessation do anything for it really in this match up? they have on powers or body's to be afraid of... its the lack of HP that gives shitry the edge.

lol, wish ud guys get over weakness, cause IDK, most every card has a weakness. Weakness i'm pretty sure is a n00b obsession. Seriosuly, I have plaed Reggs, I have OWNd Reggs. I control the board. They mentor, I jolte and Target attack an egg. they attack enegry to eggs, and evolve, I umbre him and blade arms him. Trust me
