Shinnings in FR/LG

Hello there, my fellow POKEMANIACS...was just playing my FR version. Under a 100+ hours...made my way to the Trainer Tower, battled some trainers...when, WOW :D a couple of trainers that I faced had SHINNINGS! The first that I came across, was none other than MEOWTH...some of the others that I fought, were, Espeon and Seaking...but yeah, has anybody out there caught any in the game yet?? Or, has this happend to anybody else??? Thanks for listening...Oh, yes...one more thing, what is the PURPOSE OF THE ITEM: " UP-GRADE " ??? was just curious???

THANKS

PS "DON'T BELIEVE IN STRATEGY GUIDES...WENT OFF MEMORY TO COMPLETE GAME" ;)

Lol, my friend found a Pidgey lvl 7 shiny.
:)
I have never caught a shiny before (only Red Gyarados -_-)

EDIT:
And yes, "Up-grade" is an item for Porygon.
You must trade him to another game while he holding it, then he evolves :)

My little brothers caught both a shining meowth and a shining onix in under 10 hours...
Up grade evolves a porygon to porygon2 when you trade it.

Thanks for the "Up-grade" tip...no luck yet on the shinnings, but I'm still looking...thanks again and thanks to NycDarkDragon too...laters

I got a level 53 Shining Electrode in the Cerulean Cave while I was hunting for Mewtwo. It has a white top and blue bottom. My son caught a shining geodude, I think in Mount Moon..

The shinies in the Trainer Tower are there on everyone's game. The in-game ratio for finding a shiny (in the wild, from an Egg, as a Legendary, etc) is 1/8192. :D That's just programmed into the game as a ratio, so that doesn't mean you can't find a shiny on your 100th try, or your 1,000th try, or your 10,000 try. It's just an average.

My shinies are Whismur, Clamperl, Zubat, and Zigzagoon (got the Ziggy from a Gamestop promotion). No cheats, thank you very much. >>;;

Something amazing happend once when i was talking to a friend while eating at mcdonalds. He was complaining about how he never got a shining, then he said something like "You walk into the grass like this and...SHINING!" and that very moment he found a shining zigzagoon. No Joke.Man...what's the odds of that?

I have a Shiney Butterfree and Arcanine ( now )......very cool looking dog arcanine is lol...and ive only played 33 hrs so far

Heh. :D

I caught my Whismur kinda like that...the three I caught were all while EV training, and as I went into the cave, I said aloud, "With all the Whismur's I'm gonna be battling, I'll probably end up running into a shiny." And there you go. XD

My sister got a Shiny Smoochum from the breeding center.
I wanna get my hands on a Shiny Electrode!!!!!!
It's cool and have a nice color.

My shinies are jirachi, linoone and venonat. I caught the venonat in my lg version. I got the linoone at a gamestop. and i traded for the jirachi.

if you come across one in the battle tower i recommend turning of the game because shinies are really rare

I agree with everyone who says cheating is bad. When you cheat it is showing you don't have much skill at the game

Why would you turn off the game?

1 in 8,192 for finding a shining when you say you will?

TRJessie579 :Was that the first whismur you ran into?

I would turn off the game because it might take another 8,000 pokemon before you run into another shiny

No it wont do anything cuz you'll still see the same pokes in the battle tower.....those are programmed into the game :thumb: ....sooooooo jus keep looking.....the longer you look at one time while playing the game the greater your chance of finding one........
