Should enhanced hammer be more of a staple card.

I saw this one lugia ex deck kept doing 120 damage on turn two. A lot of decks would be like this. Like you could get tornadus ex to do the same thing but more damage. So i was wondering should enhanced hammer should be more of a staple card in decks?

Enhanced hammer trainer item card

discarded a special energy attached to one of your opponents pokemon.

It depends on the deck really. If you got the space then running 2 or 3 might be good but card space in decks are already a issue.

Well i think it should be more of a staple card than pokemon catcher.....there was time's where pokemon catcher didnt really help me out.

Pokemon catcher helps in almost every single deck that its in. It's also useful against practically any deck.

Enhanced hammer only helps if youre playing against a deck that actually uses special energies, and not all of them do. Against plasma decks, they can just get it back via thundurus anyway. I wouldn't run it.

It's a reactive card. Not every deck wants to play a reactive game. Some decks want to KO an EX asap and then snag 4 prizes with Lugia EX in the next 2 turns. You can't justify slowing your deck down to deal with whatever the opponent is doing in cases like that.

The effect is nice versus Plasma decks, but it's not game-breaking or anything, unless the game goes super late. If you're going to run a reactive card, run a Tool Scrapper to pitch their Float Stones. That seems better in most cases. I think running 1 of each is possible in some slower decks, but I'd have to test it more.

I can say the same with Enhanced Hammer when playing against decks like Blastoise, Darkrai, and Rayeels, those are times enhanced hammer won't help.

And saying that enhanced hammer is more of a staple card than pokemon catcher is just wrong. Play a deck with enhanced hammer without catchers and you'll see how hard it is going to be to win; no cheap prizes, letting damaged Pokemon stay safe or even heal, etc.

Enhanced hammer is nice to have but its not game-breaking like catcher. If you never draw into an enhanced hammer, its okay. If you never draw into a catcher, good luck taking down EXs before they get healed.
