Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Side Events

By any chance will there be any team events held at Worlds? Yeah, I know from what I hear Sleep is broken and what not, but can't they change the rules before Worlds?

*Edited it to make it a little more clearer*

Phil's got it pretty close, but I made some changes to reflect some recent decisions we've made. All events other than the FireRed/LeafGreen Prereleases will be free of charge.

In addition, the events listed above are the only 'scheduled' side events we're listing. We will be doing just about any old kind of craziness that there is enough of a demand for.

There will be quick single elimination tournaments, or longer swiss events, opening constantly as we get 8-16 people who want to play. Formats will vary, and a fee may apply to sealed deck format events only.

So, while the schedule looks light, it should be every side-event player's dream!

Oh, yeah. And maybe we'll even use you all to get some feedback on tweaking the team rules!

Side events will RULE!

League Play just Saturday, or both Sat/Sun??

Prerelease still $20, or has that gone down commensurate with the decrease in other events???

[edit]for MetalMaster's sake - yes, you keep the cards from your 6 packs if you play in the FR/LG Prerelease :D :D[/edit]

[another edit]
Here's the list of Sanctioned events in Orlando from 20 - 22 August:

(okay, that was unsuccessful)

Suffice it to say, there are 2 Prerelease tournaments ("pods") sanctioned for a 9:00 am start time on 22 August.

I'll bet, as demand warrants (and as the Worlds T16 rounds conclude), that more events might be started up...

League will be Saturday and Sunday. I seem to recall us deciding that Worlds tournament matches would not count for league but side event matches would. I don't recall the exact decision though, but it sounds about right.

It's looking like we won't be running the league the same way that we did at Origins. There was way too much fraud (700+ more wins reported than losses). Each player will receive a numbered badge (similar to the VIP badges, though the art will clearly differentiate them from the VIP badges) with their name written on it. After each game, you'll have to return to the league desk with your opponent to report the results of the game. Prizes will be awarded at that time. I've run leagues like this at conventions before, back in my WotC days, and they seem to see less fraud.

I'm still trying to finalize what big prizes will be handed out and how they will be earned so I can't give any specifics on that at this time.

Another side event maybe you can consider is a 2 on 2 event. From what I hear, you guys are trying to promote it, and maybe it might be a good time to try it as a side event or something like that there?

Wait. There are going to be TWO Prerelease Tournaments at Worlds?

Why can't they have like 2 or more Prereleases during the day? Like 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, and maybe 1 in the evening?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I WANT TO GO TO BOTH OF THEM!!! Oh well.

Hehe, I'm sure you could. In the olden days of the '02 Gym Challenges, I illegally played in both 11-14 and 15+. Why can't you too? =P

Sweetness. All events except for the prerelease is free. I cant wait till worlds now so to get into many fun free events and have a blast. I remember worlds 2002 and how much fun that was and now 2 years later it looks like it will be just as great.
