Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Simple yet good

What is a simple yet good deck that I can make for my bro to run? I was thinking maybe Kecleon. Eevee seems kinda difficult to understand for him and SP decks maybe.. Just please give suggestions please please. Thank you in advance.

Simple and good right now probably means either Kingdra or Beedrill, I'd think. Maybe Scizor-Cherrim. For the most part, those decks don't rely on combos so much as hitting hard and fast. Any of them should be relatively straight-forward to teach a new player.

Definitely Kingdra or even straight Machamp... Kingdra would probably be the easiest.

What you might need to teach is how to setup the attack 'Aqua Stream' for one of the last prizes, but aside from that, the deck is quite straightforward.

What kind of general skill level/age range are we talking? If it's a little kid then Kingdra isn't the best idea.

Black Mamba is partially right. If it is one of those kids that is really young (like 5ish) Kingdra may not be the best choice. At that point, I'd let the kid choose a Pokémon that he likes the look of and build a deck for him around that. After all, kids that age probably aren't going to be winning Worlds anytime soon, and playing a Pokémon they like and know is more likely to get them to enjoy (and pay attention to) the game than winning the game is.

Actually, I just spent last night building a simple Empoleon/Golduck deck and a simple Bastiodon/Rampardos/Lucario deck for my lil cousins, because the lil gal likes Piplup (and Water pokes) and the young lad likes "tough pokemon" like Bastiodon.:thumb:

After all, learning the game and having fun is more important than winning, early on.

Either Octillery (4 Remoraid PL, 4 Octillery PL, 4 Bebe's Search, 4 Broken Time-Space, and 44 :water: Energy) or Kecleon.

Machamp is great for beginners. Scizor/Cherim is also pretty good.
There are lots of choices, but don't overwhelm him with lots of Powers and in-between turn actions. Think straight damage.

To be honest, I think Beedrill is one of the better decks to start someone off on. Start with all 4 beedrills being great encounters, a TON of regular trainers and introduce more complex ideas like azelf, claydol, etc after a few games. Its always best to learn by doing with something like this, and beedrill happens to be a deck that can start very simple and be upgraded to a fairly intricate build (something few other decks can effectively say)

Machamp is another possibility due to the level X giving the simple deck more options... I just don't care for the coin flips everywhere and I think a beedrill deck has more recovery ability which is huge to let the player correct mistakes made.

Look at the leftover cards you have, see what lines you are close to getting, find some that go together, and build a deck out of them.
