The Draft: (Monday, September 24th, 7:00pm)
The initial draft turn order will be determined randomly. After each player has drafted one Pokemon, the order is reversed. Players are drafting a Pokemon to use it, they are not drafting actual, already made, Pokemon. The draft continues until each Team has drafted 14 Pokemon.
Preseason:
Each player will have 2 weeks to train the pokemon they have drafted. This means breeding them from scratch, or using ones you already have. At the end of the 2 weeks, players will arrange their team into two squads of 6, Offense and Defense. The remaining two Pokemon are reserves, and may be switched into either team between weeks. The pokemon will then be registered with the League, their stats recorded, and checked for legitimacy. Because the club now has a budget, there will be a League Prize at the end of the season. For this reason, any Pokemon which seem ‘too good’(ie: anything suspicious) will be disallowed. To be safe, save your ultra-maxed Pokemon for individual play and throw together a quick team for the League. Teams don’t need to be that intense anyway, as everyone will be working with both a low-base-stat pool and under time constraints.
The Season:
The matches for each week will be announced during Pokemon club on Mondays in Michelangelo, and through the email list. If you can’t make it to club, you can challenge your opponent sometime during the week and report the results to the League before Sunday.
League Matches:
One League game consists of 4 quarters, each of which is two battles. In one quarter, you will play your Offense vs your opponent’s Defense, and then your Defense vs their Offense. Depending on the outcome of the match, points are scored.
Note: Items on Pokemon are not allowed in League games.
Offense wins with 1 or no fainted Pokemon: 7 points.
Offense wins with 2 to 4 fainted Pokemon: 3 points.
Offense wins with only 1 pokemon left, or Defense wins: 0 points.
Defense wins with no fainted Pokemon: Defense scores 7 points
Sides then switch their squads and play on opposite sides.
Playoffs:
Top 4 or 8 advance, depending on the number of total players in the League.
Champion Game: The last two teams will play a Superbowl/final match. The winner is declared the winner of the League and may choose a copy of Diamond, Pearl, or Battle Revolution as their prize.
