Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

So what does change with the rotation?

Tip your hat to SW Weavile as well!

Good overview, but I would have added SW Weavile. The water Weavile's free attack sped up Dark and Colorless decks, plus gave a different type to the usually dark Weavile. The Dark Engage PP made ALL decks dark! It's free retreat made it especially useful. That will not likely be replaced. The energy draw attack for free was cool. Closest thing I've seen is the LU Ninetails, but it is only good for up to 3 fire energies.

I enjoyed the thoughts!

Odd that Pokemon is rotating out pop 9 when it is the current series they send out for player rewards. Kind of a "now you see it now you don't" but good nobody's gonna lose sleep over it.

I'd lose sleep over pop 8. .-.

But, they are sending out holo energies as rewards now, aren't they?

Azelf MT, Weavile SW, Unown Z and Unown K all deserve mention as well. While Unown Z in preticular wasn't seen much, they all have useful abilites that the game with now be missing. Weavile's ability to type shift other Pokemon and accelerate Sp. Darks, Unown K's ability to create locks, Azelf MT's ability to force additional energy attachment, and Unown Z's ability to constantly refill your deck. With Kyogre/Groudon and Claydol rotating, it wouldn't be a horrible tech next format.

Togakiss GE never gets any love on the boards.... Another Quick Powerup option thumped. Going to be an interesting adjustment period....

Energy Search is only "playable" if you run multiple types of basic energy. Otherwise, you might as well just replace it with an energy so it isn't useless if they have Spirtomb active

Energy search was played in Dark Slowking to in a way lower the total number of cards in your deck. If you drew into and energy search you would simply search for the psychic energy but if you ran 4 energy searches it would be like simply playing a 56 card deck to more easily draw into cards. If wanted the same could apply to this format, obviously the danger of deafen and spiritomb and having it caught in your hand possibly when getting attacked poltergeist makes it seem silly to have in your deck, but none the less your statement was incorrect.

Energy Search was also playable in regigigas. You needed access to three different kinds of energy to attach to regigigas through his power but you could only use basic energies to grab out of the discard, so multi and rainbow energy didn't work with his power. I got lots of negative feedback from adding it to the deck, even though it worked better than using a special energy and there wasn't even spiritomb back when regigigas was more popular. It always tested to be the right play over special energies.

So it's not only viable when you need to run through your deck as quickly as possible, it's also good under the condition that you need multplie different energy, and that they also need to be basic.

Interviewer's Questions is a nice supporter to pull energy; any energy cards. This is our replacement for Rosannes, along with Pokemon Collector.

^ the difference being that it's random. Roseanne's made it possible to run techs farily easily. Rose for that one Ditto and one Psychic energy that were in your deck for instance.

Similarly Rose was good early game for getting basic Pokemon, something IQ can't do.

Interviewer's Question is cool in that it gets special energy or many energy if you are lucky, but it doesn't help consistency nearly as much. As such I don't feel comfortable saying it's a replacement for Rose.

another card to replace the claydol is volkner's philosophy it does the same thing but you discard cards instead of putting them to the bottom of the deck

Mismagius

How does this Mismagius move a Psychic energy attached to another one of your Pokémon. I think you have it confused with Mismagius from the unleashed series. Oops nevermind! I misread it.
