You are what you eat, after all. ;DRight on man.
When I tell people I eat 10 bananas for breakfast they usually think I'm nuts. But I'm really just bananas.
How about this, here's what I ate yesterday. I had one of my smoothies with a bit of almond milk (I don't do measurements), 2 bananas, a container of pineapples, and an apple. That's about 5 grams of protein. For lunch, I had a chopped salad with tofu. That's about 26 grams (according to the Pei Wei website). For dinner, I shared a tofu curry, a papaya salad, an eggplant stuffed with tofu, and a glass noodle soup. The combined total of that meal is around 36ish grams of protein, but because I shared it with another person, we can cut that in half. Overall, I had 48 grams of protein yesterday. That is smugly between the recommended min and max protein levels I should have in a day. A minimum of 34 grams to a maximum of 60.5 grams is recommended for a person with my gender, height, and weight.
Moreover, there were many other very important nutrients that I got that one wouldn't think a normal vegan would have without pills. Ignoring my almond milk, I got calcium from the tofu, lettuce in the salad, greens in the papaya salad and noodle soup, and even the nuts in my papaya salad.
The reason I am vegan is health related alone. My family has a severe history of heart attack, so I figured I'd be the one to end that history. My uncle has had a heart attack twice, my grandma has had 1, and both of my grandpas have had one. Removing animal protein is recommended in all books that I have read about the topic, so I decided to do so. I could care less about the animals... and I do not feel awkward around people who do eat animal protein. The fact that you all are questioning me shows your interest.
ANYWAYS
Alex, I don't think that trait is weird. I'll put hotsauce on anything as long as the hotsauce is close enough to me. My brother, my cousin, and a really good friend of mine all do that as well. Ever try flaming hot sauce on white rice? LOVE IT
