I have a really really bad sore throat, do you guys have any tips for regular stuff I can do to easy the pain? I'm seeing a doctor, but that won't help the pain any time soon, thanks.

Keep in mind none of us here are trained medical professionals, so take any advice with a grain of salt. Also consider allergies, but...

Theraflu, Nyquil, Cough Drops, Analgesic throat spray helps.

For non medicinal alternatives, try Hot tea with Lemon/honey, Gargling with warm salt water can help as well.

Plain vanilla ice cream, popcicles- cold foods you can handle that are kind of thick. Yogurt without fruit but flavored/plain (no fruit as it can aggitate your throat and can be acidy)
Make a simple vanilla ice cream shake with a raw egg mixed in.
As PhatSound said- gargle with salty warm water and honey does help coat your throat as well.

I have tried saltwater and it helped for a few minutes. I am drinking tea with honey right now (thanks simon) and I will definitely try some ice-cream ;) the raw egg I may stay away from though

Yeah, ice cream works well, as do throat/cough drops.

I've gotten strep throat before. It sucks. Probably isn't what you have tho.

The throat spray is amazing. You will feel like youre choking for a few, but it will feel like brand new afterwards.

Funny someone should mention the medical professional thing. I'm in my third year of pharmacy school =D

You'll have to tell me more about your symptoms though. I can't do much if you just tell me you have a sore throat.

I am a certified sports doctor, about it.

I will say warm salt water does NOT work. Its a tricking of the mine, salt absorbs into the mouth and creates momentary relief. I will say are NO true ways to stop the sore throat, only a few ways to relieve pain momentarily.

Tips-Honey+Green Tea(warm)
Honey is a cooling agent/soothing. The warm tea sort of "numbs" the pain by tripping your mind into thinking its working. Its like taking a sugar pill.

Speaking of pills, ibuprofin is a good use, just be careful to not exceed 800mg's per 8 hours.

Milk, Milk, Milk!! This is what I always do, it soothes it and it goes GREAT with Fruity Pebbles!

Pokemon remedy for a sore throat

Try chewing a Potion Trainer card and letting the pulp slowly slide down your throat.

^Full heal :p

The raw egg is kind of a suggestive idea as it does thicken the shake to help coat your throat and adds that "froth"- google raw egg consumption to make sure the egg is fresh, and, when ya mix an egg into things- you would be supprised at how many things have raw egg in the mixture.
As far as if you choose do do so, that is acceptable as it is your choice of course, and it is only a suggestion, as eggs can be a tricky thing to consume.

Someone once said this, a few years back. Please take his advice, trust me.

Don't take medical advice from a Pokemon message board.
Consult your doctor.

I once had a female doctor tell me I wasn't as sexy as I think I am, we all know this statement to be FALSE. Advice from doctors is like winning a free lottery ticket you already paid for.

I'm a first year Dental Student as well.
