Well, it's time to start my DP-On testing.
Not really, but I'm not going to Nationals or Worlds, so I am just changing all my decks to fit the DP-On format.

Here is my first deck to test.

    Pokemon (14)
    1 Lucario Lv. X
    3 Lucario (DP)
    4 Riolu (DP)
    2 Claydol
    2 Baltoy
    1 Azelf
    1 Chatot

    Energy (10)
    10 Fighting

    Trainers (36)
    4 Bebes
    4 Roseannes
    4 Buck's Training
    2 Wager
    4 Pokedex
    4 Quick Ball
    4 Energy Search
    4 Pluspower
    2 Warp Point
    2 Premier Ball
    2 Night Maintenance

The goal of the deck is to speed through your deck using tons of deck thinning cards like Quick ball, Pokedex and Energy Search, and beat down with Lucario.
Premier Ball and Night Maintenance help set in a Stance lock to be able to withstand late game annoyances.
Pretty straightforward. More decks to come.

ok, that will work a lot.

Which azelf? Also, I think the LA lucario is better:

    Lucario LV.35 - Fighting - HP90
Stage 1 - Evolves from Riolu

[F] Focus Blast: Does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's Pokemon.
[F][F][C] Spike Lariat: 60 damage. If the Defending Pokemon already has damage counters on it, this attack does an additional 20 damage.

    Weakness: Psychic (+20)
    Resistance: none
    Retreat: 1

    What do you think?

Take out the 4 Energy Search and put in 4 more energy instead.
Same odds of draeing, and in case you didn't know, thinning out the deck is BAD. It makes you deck out faster.

Deck thining is good because you'll draw important cards more often.
Nontheless, NRG search is useless, you'll run out of nrg and you don't want to waste your nm for nrg do you ?

well i would replace the energy search for reg fighting energys. put it like this say you draw into an energy search it might as well be like drawing into a regular energy since all u play is rock energy. except since your using more rock energy you ca use night maintenance to get them back while you cannot get a energy search back. you have more advantaes using reg fighting energy than energy search. i think the only good deck energy search is good for is porygon z and garchomp because you need a certain type of energy at that point for e deck to get the advantage.

I (what is it, fourth it) the call for fewer NRG search. But hear me out.

You have 2 Night Maintenance. Most likely, that'll be used for a 2-2 line of Lucario. Toss a lv X in there, (say you didn't have a Premier Ball) That's only room for getting back 1 Fighting NRG. If you forgo the LV, (or skip grabbing a Riolu) then that gives you 2 Fighting NRG back into the deck. Which gives you a grand total of 12 NRG. (give or take) You've said you want to get into a Stance Lock late game, that's fine, but you need 3 NRG per Lucario lv X for Close Combat, and You lose almost all of them when you have a KO.

I'm going to do some calculations. Average 5 Lucario used per game (w/NM)
    NRG needed = 10 (2 F/Lucario)
    Average Lucario lv X used = 2/3
NRG needed for the odd Close Combat = 2/3 (some pokemon will need that big hit)

Total NRG needed per average game = 12/13

    NRG Played = 10
Max NRG retreived with NM = 2/3 (if you don't grab a lv X, and only get 2 Lucario / 1 Riolu)

Total NRG possible in deck = 12/13

These numbers show that 1 misplaced NRG would be dreadful to the deck.

Also, which Azelf are you using? It would be helpful to mention which set. If it's the MT one, drop it for an NRG.

I agree with Garch somewhat, the LA Lucario looks pretty good, but if you are going to play that one, you need a couple more NRG in your deck.

    Hope that helps!

    lol
you must not be familiar with the 30 Minute rounds and Claydol.
Claydol ensures you don't deck out.
And I hear y'alls reasoning behind why more fighting is good but in this particular deck I for one have tested with 4 Energy Search and it works much better. (btw there is a topic on this, so don't turn this deck into a topic about energy search).
Just like Quick Ball and Pokedex, Energy Search is a 1-4-1. Essentially, you get no advantage, but in this deck you need 2 energy, 3 MAX, to attack. Most of the time you will never use all 10 of your energy cards, so I don't understand the reasoning behind NOT wanting to thing your deck to get to your Pluspowers, Premier Balls, and useful supporters faster.

I understand that Energy Search will never be viewed as a good card. BUT, the fact of the matter is in some decks Energy Search SHOULD be played because it is a good card for those certain decks. It has been instilled in every competitive player's mind that Energy Search is near useless unless you play multiple basic energy, but we need to learn to think outside of the box at the advantages of such a card.

Trust me, y'all think this deck has an energy problem which can be understandable but it doesn't. 2 energy to do 40 and 20. It takes 3 turns to charge up a Lucario Lv. X That's a lot. Normally I will use around 4-5 Lucario per game BUT to say that each of those will have 3 energy on it is absurd. I will use on average 8-10 energy per game. My average Lucario only uses 1-2 energy because it takes a complete turn to attach 1 energy, which is slow. NM and Premier Ball are primarily used for Pokemon, but often times I usually just shuffle back a Lucario, Riolu and still have an extra space, which CAN be used for an energy if needed.

Trust me, Energy Search is good in this deck.
And the Azelf is LA, for grabbing a prized Lucario lv. X

I wasn't saying NO NRG search, I was saying fewer.

Also, I never said that all Lucario's needed 3 NRG, that would be absurd. Only the Lv X needs it, and then only every so often.

Also, - all 4 NRG Search for NRG is bad. This deck doesn't need that many.

I just think that the deck would benefit from 1-2 more NRG. That way you have some to spare. Like if some are prized.

I completely forgot about prizing, too, so I'd say ~1 are prized on average each game, so that'll affect it's numbers...
