OR it could be it's own deck. It needs no Energy acceleration. Only heavy discard and a lot of Energy to do so. At its base, a Cilan/Ultra Ball combo would be the most effective method. Other discard heavy cards include Comp Search, Dowsing Machine, Juniper, or Hugh (under the right conditions).

It has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see how it does.
Sounds like a deck that would fall apart with a single Ghetsis.

Well yeah Ghetsis presents a problem to just about every deck. I'm just throwin' ideas around.

Another possibility is Latios EX with Blastoise. Manual attach a Psychic Energy than Deluge for two Water. Luster Purge, discard all Energy. Super Energy Retrieval - Rinse repeat.

Then there is Kyurem. Good lord this thing spells icy death. Again pair with Blastoise. But also add Colress Machine and maybe First Ticket (or not) to get that T1 Hammerhe... I mean Frost Spear. Throw in Frozen City for fun.

One idea I have for Heatran EX is Plasma Chandelure, Colress Machine, and Plasma Frigate. Give it no weakness with Plasma Frigate, Accel onto it with Chandelure, To allow it to use it's attack quickly (sort of). Cursed Shadow Chandelure could be an acceptable option for Heatran's second attack but IDK. I'm still working on this idea.

Kingdra/Empoleon? Diving Draw discards energy and refreshes your hand, while Kingdra pulls the energy back in. Plus, Kingdra's spread pairs well with Empoleon's not-quite-enough damage output. With Ditto, it could work.

Weavile/Exeggcute ftw
Chandelure is so cool, but nothing really that benefits from it...
Mime is awesome, halts lando and darkrai quite a bit (and its kyurem nvi's nightmare ) easily catchered though :(
I love kingdra. Certainly will look out to make something with that
Raticate is in the trend of plasma gale's liepard. We're getting all these support pokes right now and it makes me sooo happy. I still dont see me running it though :/
Anyone noticed that there is a '<3' in Hoothoot's attack translation? :p
Kecleons ability is so nifty :p its kinda mewtwo suicide though
SER? Loving all the base set trainers we're getting (calling Energy Removal ACE SPEC)
Frozen city is ampharos in a trainer. Awesome.
And so much awesome shinies! So playable, as well
Cacturne does 60 for 1, not that bad, if only the 30 was to your opponent :/
Vaniluxe/Blastoise/Fliptini seems like a fun deck
Kyurem is the water lando! And with ether and colress, wc attack t1 is more than possible
oh electrode. If only you could draw 6. Just not good enough :(
Metagross, another support pokemon who could be good if you didn't had to spend so much time setting him up
Staraptor OP. Very good late-game, but a stage two with 4 cost attack is not really something you'll whip out by surprise
Meh EXs, except the cleffa that is tornadus and latias. If only he could deal 90. Really cool ACE SPEC, but not really worth running over all the others we have
Float Stone and shiny garbo gives garbo another chance. I <3 my trash poke

I'm really looking forward to this set, just because it gives so many options for serious and fun decks. Mostly fun though :p

I really want to find a use for Staraptor. it just seems so bad. The retreat cost is also bad. Birds should have free retreat like they always had.

Ditto is probably Staraptor's best friend. Eelektrik might be an option to ease that 4 Energy attack. IDK this is a tough one.

Thats what I was thinking but the deck would be super weak to Landorus EX and I would want to avoid that. The attack would be better if it cost 3 to use.

Float Stone might eliminate the need for Darkrai in Klinklang decks and give Klinklang a better chance of slipping back into the meta. Not that it didn't already...

FINALLY EEK IS BACK!!!!

Seriously, every deck will be running 1 of that Tornadus EX. the card fixes so many issues with our format.

Did anyone notice the second Ace Spec in the set?

Life Essence - Trainer
Item

Pokemon Tool: Each Pokemon can have only 1 Pokemon Tool attached to it at any time.

When the Pokemon this card is attached to is Knocked Out, your opponent takes one less Prize Card.

ACE SPEC: You can’t have more than 1 ACE SPEC card in your deck.

Sounds incredible on EXs, until you realize they can just play Tool Scrapper and take the 2 prizes(3
with Lugia EX).
