I have no idea what any of the means. and the only SP deck that may still have an advantage is sablelock. anythin else is at a huge disadvantage. i really have to idea what youre talking about to the most part. SP wirthout its trainers is a joke and most players know that.... luxray doesnt matter cause i play plenty of warp and energy and they cant turn it to btight look again...

its sad to see someone worship SP pokemon like this... and thats coming from an avid luxchomp player (me)

Agreed. I have difficulty setting up just under a spiritomb with Infernape/Garchomp.

Nah, I am not worshiping SP, I am just simply stating the obvious that MOST decks lose to it. SP in the hands of a decent player will take down a non SP deck with an amazing player any given day. It is that good, you either are SP or you are rogue.

I do not worship SP, I dislike it...I never played the deck, never will. But it was the only deck I ever feared in any situation because of it's complete control it has.

Haha that's a joke. You must not have good player in your area. They can win with an competitive deck if they built it. SP is good but without its precious trainers its OK. Just think if the TGI trainers didnt exist? Or just poke turn for that matter. The trainers make SP what it is and I'm planning to take them completely away.

I've playing with a similar deck for a while now, just added Vileplume in and it really messes up SP decks. I find it to be a favourable matchup actually.

yeah i played my luxchomp vs an OK build of vileplume/gengar and i lost even though i was doing well by keeping vileplumes away and what not. gengar is just good... he flipped heads of fainting spell and i was done.

Hmmm...maybe Jirachi RR could be a helpful tech since you're only running supporters. It's for sure nothing more than a complete tech, and potentially a free prize for your opponent, but if you have that Vile lock up on the bench, you can dish out 2 supporters a turn to finish setting up if you need to. Also, it's always a great starter to have to get that lock in place just in case you don't draw into it with your opening hand. Lets you get a card of your choice once he's taken out as well. The free retreat is nice too

It seems like a really tight deck, kudos on the build!

I really like this deck and plan to play it myself!

I think it will be a HUGE turn off for SP decks, and although SP
players feel there's still no chance I plan to find a way to make them
wrong haha

I think this is all good on it's own, but I'm finding the same struggle
with my trainer lines...I can't help you out as I haven't found out myself
either, but it's a good build!

About that whole either SP or Rogue thing, this deck may not be rogue,
but it puts up a huge fight on it's own! The only way this deck won't succeed
is if everyone in your area plays hardly any or no trainers in fear of Vileplume
which would slow down most decks so it would be stupid! I say this deck will
be a top competitor!

Why would an SP deck have an advantage? I mean its not like Bright Look followed by Uxie X/Zen Blade OHKO is a problem. Nobody runs Uxie X anymore with Claydol... waitaminut...

jirachi isnt a good start because it would replace spiritomb and that is no good for my strategy

haha thanks for the support!

I would throw in 2 bench shield for Plume.

i cant play trainers, thats a very inconsistent card and my play style is geared towards consistency

that is A problem. however that move invloves extensive set up and using many resources. they will have no chance to use any of their trainers afterwards and i will have time to set up another plume in my next turn. you have to keep in mind that the player has to do that play with no trainers and SP is one of the most trainer reliant decks there is. if worst comes to worst ill stall with another tomb. but keep in mind after they kill the vileplume they will have to deal with the gengar poltereisting for a ridiculous amount right after. and they still have to worry about fainting spell. which they could play around but it exhuasts resources. and will no poke turn. multiple crobat drops cant happen. its very frustrating. ive tested my luxchomp on it and its a very difficult match up. frustrating to say the least.

I love this deck i have played gengar since it came out this is my deck so far hope it helps :thumb:

1-1 vespiquen
1 unown Q
1 azelf
1 uxie
1 chatot G
4 spiritomb
2-1-2 vileplume
4-2-3-1 gengar

trainer/supporter/stadium

4 bebe's
2 emcee's
3 sage's
4 collector
3 oak's new theory
2 flower shop lady
2 bts
2 rare candy

7 :psychic:
2 warp
4 call

I am thinking of taking out vespiquen but I do not know what to put in.

Regarding the supporters:

I like Cheerleader 3 cards (they draw 1). More often than not they decline the draw. If not I'll take my chances that they will end up worse off.
I also like Underground select 2 from 4. Without Claydol the bottom of the deck is just as good as the top.
I didn't originally consider Elm but like the idea as I find myself looking for a Bebe's often.

Vespiqueen and Bench Shield are bad ideas for reasons already mentioned.

Any thought on the mirror match?

I use trainer lock as well and I try to bench shield oddish or gloom before I get to Vileplume. I haven't really had a hard time doing it and it works wonders. There are a lot of snipers out there. Just a thought.

I would suggest trying out one or two Mesprit LA on top of the Trainer Lock. Power Locking for a turn or two will allow you to stall the Bright Look/Healing Breath/Set Up/Trade Off. It was a great card in Donphan when that was still hyped.

you should use 4 copycat. they will have pretty big hands with useless trainers.

i have found this to be useful:

4 Copycat
4 Bebes
3 Pokemon Collector
2 Professor Elms Training Method
1 PONT
1 Volkners (I just started trying this out)
1 Palmers

I also play
1 Luxary Ball
3 Communication
3 Rare Candy

just for initial set up.

its too early to have a solid list for this deck but Vileplume is definitely gonna be huge

Supporters for Gengar/Vileplume/Spiritomb

This deck needs a big hand refresh as often as possible, so you can draw upon the supporter you need at the time. You should run at least (3) COPYCAT. Your opponent will be loaded with cards, and you will draw from 8 - 12 cards every time you drop it. I crushed a Sablelock deck at league last week from a guy who top cutted Nationals, and I drew about 13 cards with a Copycat. Had everything I could possibly need on that draw including full Gengar line, BTS, etc.

You should run the new FLOWER SHOP GIRL card instead of Palmers. As you will be losing basic/stage 1/stage 2 in your Gengar line, plus 2-3 energies, the card is perfect. I run (2) of those.

Pokemon collector (3) should be fine; Bebes (2-3), PONT (2). I also like Cynthia's Guidance. You almost always pull a very useful card when looking at top 7 of your deck. Also have a couple Interviewer's Questions -- to pull needed energies.

I teched a Staraptor FB (X), as it's power lets me choose any supporter from my deck each turn, and no biggie if it gets sprayed. I think I'm going to change this out for a 1/1 Blaziken FB line -- for the added Dialga G tech. Got to have a good one of those. Any good Dialga G player will SPRAY your "level down" PokePower as soon as they see what you're playing -- for sure. They'll let you drop an Uxie and set up a bit -- then save a spray for your Gengar X.

LuxChomp players are going to bright look the Vileplume, then 1-shot it with Uxie X and 1 DCE attached. That's what I would do.

Anyway, hope this helps. Our deck is doing very and is really messing with the SP players -- nice!

i run lookers to get rid of their sprays (hopefully) then i can level down at will. i like palmers because i like the option to get 5 pokemon if i want to. personally i think interviewers is a bad card in almost ever deck except maybe a rain dance deck. 4 collector is for consistency as well as 4 bebes. and yes copycat has been added i just havent edited anything. and 3 communications is inconsistent. the plan is to keep a trainer lock the entire game and that will not help

I was just going to suggest copycat too. Although two people already covered it. I have begun building a much similar deck. Could you repost your entire deck now with the changes along with experiences with it so far? Thanks alot! Hopefully we can stick it to SP decks the best we can haha
