Dusknoir is one of the widely used decks in the United States and probably in the other countries. It combines "strategy" with "spread" in order to have a successful win. It can overcome a lot of decks and show how unanimous it can be. These deck can have some very good starts because of how the entire deck works together as an "engine." Provided with: a ghost with draw and spreading power, a damage controller, and a bigger spreader, you can win ANY game.

Strategy:

The strategy is to start placing damage counters every where, until you have 120 damage left after you level up and get benched. Against a kingdra deck, you would move damage from it with Cress X and put it to another Dusknoir. Please help me with this deck because it has problems. I don't need help with the 1-1 X's becasue they work already and are needed, except maybe Azelf LV.x. Ther are so many ways to attack, so use every option. These include: Uxie Lv.X's Zen Blade, Dusknoir SF's Night Spin and/or Damage Even, and Azelf Lv.X's attack. These attacks increase the number of ways your opponent must think.

Cards:

Pokemon:

Duskull SW- Very important. It can evolve right when you play it. It's Astonish attack can also be good at times.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=31934&catid=searchresults&searchid=4275

Duskull SH2- This little guy is a beast. He can self-damage himself and damage the opponent. He also setrs you up for a Damage Even attack next turn. Nish Bind is also a good attack, which can help you stall if needed.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=42203&catid=searchresults&searchid=4275

Dusclops SF- Whenever you have trash in your hand, Dark-One-Eye them and make them discard one. Also, a pretty good T1 attack. In addition, Ambush can be pretty useful when facing Psychic-weakened decks.

Dusknoir SF-The heartbeatin ghost of this deck, also considered a draw engine in some ways. Dusknoir can place damage counters fast and help you get easy K.Os, like on sitting ducks.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=41001&catid=searchresults&searchid=4276

Dusknoir DP- this is the Dusknoir where the power is king. Most decks do great with a big bench, so this guy is there to ruin the opponent's chances of making some big plays.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=31494&catid=searchresults&searchid=4276

Dusknoir Lv.X- This card is a BEAST in this deck. Getting the opportunity to place a damage counter between turns in very lethal. This makes it easier for K.O.s with Deep Balance.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=41012&catid=searchresults&searchid=4276

Azelf- A great card. It helps pull out a prized X or a very helpful Pokemon card.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=35737&catid=searchresults&searchid=4277

Azelf Lv.X- works hand in hand with Dusknoir's Deep Balance. Placing damage counters is the key. It also keeps away Dusknoir's Weaknesses from Tyranitar varients.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=35671&catid=searchresults&searchid=4277

Uxie- A very good draw engine. Can set up a potentially fatal Dusknoir and can do a quick 20 and put it on the bottom of your deck. Also, it helps when your opponent has that Dusky DP tech out.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=35717&catid=searchresults&searchid=4278

Uxie LV.X- It's even better after it's benched and ready for Tradeoff. It helps get through your deck faster and Zen blade and be very good and fast for damage.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=35735&catid=searchresults&searchid=4278

Cresselia- with one energy, you can organize your deck for better topdecks. That is pretty good when you aren't getting the topdecks that you need.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=34902&catid=searchresults&searchid=4279

Cresselia Lv.X- this is one of the best cards, Pokepower-wise. Moving damage counters around to prevent your Pokemon from being K.Oed is very muh needed, expecially against spread decks. Moon Skip is also really good, just to get ahead in prizes so that you can relax a little.+
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=33211&catid=searchresults&searchid=4279

Bronzor- Good starter and can confuse the opponent or put them asleep.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=34884&catid=searchresults&searchid=4280

Bronzong- The best spreader when worked with Dusknoir Lv.X and Cresselia Lv.X. Dusknoir X places damage, Cresselia Lv.x moves it around, and Bronzong adds on. The Pokebody makes it more lethal against cards like Claydol and sitting AMU cards..
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=34895&catid=searchresults&searchid=4281

Unown G- The best card in a mirror or damage counter spreading deck. Attach it to your strongest Pokemon, like dusknoir, and prevent mishaps with their counter spreads.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=33245&catid=searchresults&searchid=4282

Spiritomb- a very nice tech in this deck. It has a great PokePower and a fairly decent attack.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=35678&catid=searchresults&searchid=4283

Trainers:

Rare Candy- helps speed up the process and get faster damage out.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=40061&catid=searchresults&searchid=4284

Luxury Ball- what would you do if you had a Rare Candy, Duskull, Energy, but no Dusknoir. You would place this bad boy down and pull out your deadly ghost to pummel the opponent's pokemon.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=41107&catid=searchresults&searchid=4285

Bebe's Search- it reels out any pokemon, including Level X's. It can set up draw power, damage moving, and/or damage counter spreading.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=31805&catid=searchresults&searchid=4286

Poke Drawer+-best card in the deck if 2 copies are played at the same time. It helps setup a T1 or T2 Dusknoir.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=41100&catid=searchresults&searchid=4287

Warp Point- This helps get rid of an opponent's strong active and bench it, bringing out a weaker Pokemon and a free K.O.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=18029&catid=searchresults&searchid=4288

Night Maintenance- refuels your deck with revived ghosts and sets up more.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=31709&catid=searchresults&searchid=4289

Roseanne's Research- This is a very good supporter for any turn. You can get xie and raise the draw power, or setup more Pokemon. Nuff said.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=40062&catid=searchresults&searchid=4290

Premier Ball- I know how it feels to run out of Night Maintenance and still need a Level X in the discard pile. Premier Ball does that. Nuff said.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=41102&catid=searchresults&searchid=4291\

TM TS-2 Devoluter- a great tool card. It aids Dusknoir with its' spreading abilities. It is also great for a last-minute prize.
http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=35703&catid=searchresults&searchid=4293

Article: Dusknoir maybe the "BDIF" because of the power it possesses. Dusknoir SF is a very important card that fuels the new Dusknoir era. It combines damage spreading AND draw power. With its' Shadow Command draw power, it basically fuels itself for devastation. Combined with the right Dusknoir, which in this format is the DP Dusknoir, this deck has never been better. With the DP Dusknoir's Dark Palm PokePower, the whole game changes. It enables you to keep the opponent's setup at 3 bench and 1 active. This hugely gives you an advantage because with the other 2 bench spaces, SO much can be done. Unown G plays right into the process of protection from mirrors and Machamp(turn 1) decks. With the power of Unown G, there is no "auto k.o." involved and no danage placement on your own Dusknoirs by your opponents. The 1-1 Cresselia Lv.X is called the "Damage Controller" because it control how much damage is dealt to the opponent. If Dusknoir SF is powered to the fullest, you could potentially Night Spin for 50-60 damage with the Full Moon Dance power. You could eeven setup a "sniping" K.O.. In addition, 2 more cards add on to this. They are: Spititomb and Devoluter. These are the powerhouses of adding on to the Dusknoir's spreading. The 1-1 Azelf Lv.X is here to spread and neglect weakness. With 1 energy, you can do so much damage if you are playing the right deck. Next is the best Pokemon in the deck, Dusknoir Lv.X. This guy is lethal and provides that "game-changing" move. It spreads between turns and when knocked out as a Stadium, it goes back into your hand. Finally, Bronzong MD adds on to the damage. With the ability to spread on PokePower-based Pokemon and ones with damage counters on them is awesome. It also requires no energy. This deck REALLY doesn't have any bad starts because of how every card works together to make many BIG moves. Whether it is T1 or T2 Noir, you can ALWAYS make a comeback with the damage spread and control.

Matchups:

Machamp- 35/65 your favor

This can be a really easy match up if you can get your Unown G's out fast. You'll have some really good basics out at some point, but will need Unown Gs. Also, If they level up and don't use Strong Willed, its a free K.O. for you. You can Night spin them for 50+40 for weakness+60 for their "No Guard" power for a perfect 150.

Kingdra 40/60 your favor

This can be really good, or really bad. Kingdra is a very fast deck, but with the right hand you can win. You can keep using Night Spin to stop the attack against your active Dusknoir, and when they hit your bench, you can use Cresselia LV.X to move that damage around.

Gengar 40/60 your favor

This matchup depends on how many Unown G they play. If they play many, then you have a problem, but if they don't, you can damage place on every pokemon they have and get easy K.O.s, without the Gengar's body working.

Scizor/Cherrim 30/70 your favor

You can damage Scizor with Night Spin and make them burn energies on their active one to attack, leaving a less powered one on the bench. The Pokebody for Scizor doesn't work if you damage place on them. So, it helps you in the long run. Also, after you Night Spin, their Pokebody for Scizor doesn't work because it needs to have 60 on it. You can double Night Spin as another option.

Dusky varient 40-60 your favor

I have played against many different Dusky varients, but the Dusknoir/Azelf Lv.X varient stands out. I've seen this deck be played with 3-4 Unown G. The main idea is to get out Dusky ASAP so that you can Night Spin or Damage Even sniping bait. The Dusknoir DP works very good against this deck because they usually have: an Active Dusknoir, 2 Uxie, 1 Uxie Lv.X, and another Dusknoir on the bench. You can easily get around this with the power, and nuff said.

Tyranitar/Bronzong- 55/45 their favor

I have hated this matchup for a while, but have began to like it. You can place damage on the Bronzongs for K.O.s, or you can Deep Balance with Azelf Lv.X for all of those energies on those Tyranitars. 2 ways to play, in this case. Comebacks are ALWAYS possible here.

Regigigas 55/45 their favor

This deck can be pretty fast, with the ability to hit the bench for 20 and heal when needed. You do have resistanc, but their healing power is very good. The only way to beat them is to add damage to the Dusknoirs with their Pokepowers and snipe the bench.

Tyranitar/Weavile 50/50 even

This deck isn't as good as Tyranitar/Bronzong, but it can setup very fast. With the ability to get 2 energies and fuel a benched Larvitar is a huge idea becasue the player using this deck pulls out Rare Candy after Candy. Devoluter plays big in this. When you let them knock out an active Dusky Lv.X, you can pull out a benched Bronzong and attach a Devoluter. From there, you can setup another Dusnoir and you are good for the rest of the game.

Chartran-30-70 your favor

This deck takes a while to set up with no energy acceleration, but it packs a big punch. You can start out by pulling out a T1 or at most T3 Dusky Shadow Command. This makes them more aware with benching good cards down, and Dusky DP makes their bench weak with a small bench space. Charizard is supposed to swarm for them, but this stops it from swarming. Also, they have a really hard time to setup with the 4 Energy requirement.

Abomasnow 50-50 even

Abomasnow is a really good matchup against this deck because it can go both ways. They can swarm with Abomasnows and start hitting everything. In this scenario, even if you warp them, the damage reduction is STILL 20 damage. The point is to Swarm them back with Dusknoir SF so that you can place damage counters on everything. If they have the Unown G attached to them, it would be strategic to use Night Spin, which forces them to attach an extra energy to use the 20+spread attack and try to knock out an Active Dusky Lv.X or something. If they play Spiritomb, it can really become helpful on both sides because they wi;; normally already have damage counters on their Pokemon, so that they are affected by Cursed Breath.

Empozong 60/40 their favor

This deck hasn't really been played, but hey, in this new season, I've won 8 League Tournys with it. Anyways, Empozong is really good against Dusky. It spreads to each Dusky because most of my Pokemon are basics. Then, they Bronzong out and Devolute you. If you have Unown G out, they use the 1-0-1 Omastar tech in to pick them back up and wager you. In this case, you can start Damage Even T2 so that everything starts taking damage counters. Sure, they have Bronzong, and sure, they can bench your Dusky X and snipe it, but you can use stuff like Azelf Lv.Xs Deep Balance and Uxie Lv.xs Zen Blade to get around the Bronzong. Full Moon Dance from Cresselia Lv.X+Uxie Lv.Xs Zen Blade=90 damage and a K.O. on Bronzong.

New Age Empoleon (Empoleon SF/Mesprit LA) 20/80 your favor

Their deck can really be a pain because it shuts off powers and energy attachment. Luckily, Dusky only needs 2 energies to attack. With the Empoleon Lv.X that they have, they can snipe a Dusclops that is setting up on your bench. They use up most of the bench space, so you can start using Dark Palm. The main thing to do is to keep your Dusky Lv.X at 50 HP so that they cannot snipe it with Empo Xs Hydro Impact. Do this by DAMAGE CONTROL with Cress X. The main idea is to get out an Uxie Lv.X and Zen Blade for 60. Then, move a damage counter from another Pokemon to the Empo X. It is now safe to use Shadow Command, putting your Dusky Lv.X to 7. Then, you can Damage Even them for the K.O. Their deck really relies on Claydol GE, so those should be sniped as soon as Empo X and other Empo are k.o.ed.

Variations:

1-1 Claydol GE- This card could be a great draw engine to this deck. It can help pull Dusknoir SF and Uxie Lv.X out quickly so that you can start damaging fast.

1-1 Mesprit Lv.X- This deck already has Azelf LV.X and Uxie Lv.X. Why not add in the 3rd pixie? It could be a very devastating card because of the 200 damage it can deal with Supreme Blast.

Closing:

Overall, Dusknoir is a pretty good deck with many varieties and ways to play. All of the complex strategies make this deck a force to be reckoned with. This deck is really fun to play because of the many ways you can attack, setup, and win. At the moment, it is proving to be great and a worthy contender for States and maybe even Regionals. I guess we'll just have to see.

Thanks:

I would like to thank Rashad, deredd04, and rage780 for helping me playtest with their decks and letting me sww how everything goes.

And 2 TGW should help a lot in here

id like more bronzongs in there, also, you should add in just one dp dusknoir, its not like ur gonna use all three

Pokeric- i'm still thinking about those changes?

charchar- well, at league today, i had all 3 out in all the games. The DP one needs 3 Energies to attack, when the new one needs 2.

You not running enough search for basics. IDK how your has ran so far despite, good or bad? And how have you managed to get basics out when you don't start with Call Energy or Roseanne's. Max out either one and still keep the other at two.

You can usually get away with running 1 N.M. But with all the small lines I understand why your running 2. Your running way too many 1-1, 2-1 lines. What if they are prized? I know you have Azelf, but what if that is prized too? Yet I understand why your running them that short.

You have a pretty good lines for what your strategy is. Even moonlight stadium isn't a bad play. But with 3 Warp Points you want to drop it to 1.

So:
-1 Night Maintenance
-1 moonlight stadium

+ 2 Roseanne's R.

I just noticed your running a bit high on energy.
-2 Psychic

+ 1-1 Zong

actually, the funny thing is,you don't need ALL the 1-1 lines out. Cressela Lv.X line is used for any matchup, 1-1 Azelf Lv.X is only for Tyranitar, and the Bronzong line is for the Gengar matchup.

I would drop a Psychic energy for a Cyclone. It's nasty with Dusknoir DP if you don't have a Warp in hand, and it has its other tricks as well.

I also don't think you especially need Premier Ball here in spite of your high number of level Xs. I think one more Roseanne's and Bebe's really would be a lot more effective, especially since you are not running any Claydol. Shadow Command is nice but it doesn't necessarily replace Cosmic Power and with only 2-2 Roseanne's/Bebe's, I imagine you are eventually going to have some trouble getting everything out (and by that I don't mean literally everything you run because I know certain cards are only used in certain match-ups like Azelf lv. X. You should find use for him against Sceptile variants too by the way, not just to eliminate your weakness against Tyranitar/other Dark stuff like Blissey with Weavile.). I would at least drop 1 Premier Ball for the 3rd Roseanne's if you really don't want to ditch it altogether.

If the Moonlight stadium has been helping you out a lot then I suppose you should keep it at 2 but if it is mainly only used as a tech against other Dusknoir decks you might consider swapping one out for a TM-TS2. I find this card to be invaluable in general as a tech but especially in something like this with so many spread/snipe options. You can also actually afford to let a Dusknoir sit active and absorb damage while you systematically remove their Rare Candied evolutions because you can of course retaliate big time with Damage Even when the time is right.
