Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

St. Louis Area City Championships

Hey, 3 of 6 Cities done...what a FUN day!

Thanks to Cary and gang for coming down, having a GREAT time, and boldly walking home with one of the St. Peters Medals!!! I hope we get a good group down to Rolla this Saturday, then Sedalia on Sunday!

But, so much for the pleasantries.,....

We had 45 people in the cold and wet weather brave their way out. We were short a lot of the "usual suspects" but had a great time! Great to see so many new faces!

And the winners were....

Juniors...Brian H. over Dylan T. Brian ropes in his 2nd medal. Nice job!!!

Seniors...Andrew K. over William W. Great job Andrew....your deck, your choice, over a lot of Blissey variants. William...what is this, 2 finals in 2 events...we may have a new power player developing!

Masters....Joe over Anthony! Joe wants a nickname...I will have one for him by Sedalia...he took out Newman and Uncle Tony on the way to the title! Great job Joe! Hope that Medal and the prizes weigh your car down for the trip back to Rolla!

Thanks to all, and see you in Rolla and Sedalia next weekend, before we go to the Gathering Ground on the 22nd!

Vince

I am hoping that I go to Rolla but the way things are now, I highly doubt I will be going. I will be in Sedalia cities for sure but, I am almost ready to chalk this season up(lol, I know it is early but, I can tell by the way things are going right now, I will not get many points no matter how many games I win!!!)
but it will be sweet to catch up with some of the St. Louis crowd!!!
Jake, r u going to make it down to Sedalia?

Nathan,

I've decided time spent on this game this season is all a complete waste, I refuse to spend my money on a trip to Florida, as I am one who does not fall for the communism that is arising from this game (how ironic assuming my origin), ergo, sacrificing a full weekend for a few meaningless points is out of the question.

Short answer: No.

Jake,

Thats a bummer dude, well hopefully at some other tourney I might catch up with you bro:thumb:
I do agree with you though, this game is changing and NOT for the better. I wish pokemon was how it was 2 years ago, I actually had fun playing in tournaments and such, even though I went to only 2, I had much more fun then than what I am now. Right now it is, if you have the money to travel all around the nation, then welcome to the World Championships. Almost sad, people are basically buying their points. It sucks that I don't have tons of money to travel and such, I feel that I would have a legit shot at winning worlds, I am not saying that I am good at pokemon but, I am a pretty solid player, will many people outside of Missouri really recognize me?....Nope!!!

But I will play when I can, and do well in all the tournies this year that I go to.

Jake, I hope everything went as well as you wanted it to Saturday. Some things are more important than the Yellow Rat!

Hey, the lack of emphasis on points this year seems to have made it a much more laid back envio.

I see a lot of people travelling just to hang out with friends, and sure, try to win, but these events give us a chance to talk and be around people that we enjoy.

For the top tier, it will always be about the winning, and getting to the final prize...Worlds...

For most of the rest of us, it is going out, having some fun, trying to win an event, and laughing at ourselves when we fail miserably.

Hope to see you all this Sunday...unfortunately, I will not be up on Saturday...Mom wants to throw me, her little boy, a birthday party.

I am not sure if it is my midlife crisis or hers?!?!?

I do appreciate it, and will see you all on Sunday!

I like to have fun at tournies as well, and I too laugh when I fail miserably, just like last year, when I forgot prizes at cities. lol.
I am looking forward to seing all that St. Louis has to offer....-Jake S. It will be fun catching up.

I can't find a thread for Rolla cities..sooooo i was wondering if there will be any changes if there is some significant snow fall???

No worries Mate! Now we got to go and check out the Mills Location!
