Well I finally made it to the final 4 ....then lost to metanite :( in the finals I took 4th
I play gardy ex with altaria ex for support
Great event,had lots of fun ..It was fun seeing my son go 3-1 in the juniors he took 5th
pulled another altaria ex and got a kewl lugia deckbox
looking forward for some more stl dates....see you then
 
Jake: I have worked with Vince, been in tourneys that Vince has ran and seen alot of what he gives back to the PTCG community. My oldest son has played his kids. Ergo, I am interested in his tourneys. Vince and I love to see newer folks get a chance to dance with the "big boys"! Of course, we also like to see our own do well.

I guess you never "lurk" in other threads either? :rolleyes:

Actually, everything went off according to my timetable.

Registration scheduled 10:30 to 11:30

Due to the weather, I opened with lunch, allowing the few straggles to make it in, and for us to go when we decided to go, and then we were fully going by 12:15. I'll take that!

Let's see...tourney starts at 12:15 with 69 people, a top 8 cut, and we are DONE by 7:00! No finals concessions or silliness either!

This was a cool event on many levels...

Juniors

Andrew pushed to the wall in the Junior Division by both Ben D (RaiEggs) and a really cool Flygon deck (Brian H) in the semis and finals. Cudos to Ben for taking a game on Andrew, and making game 3 very exciting...

Brian, welcome to the finals tables, we expect to see you back there!

Seniors

Heather T. made a great return to the finals. This is the same girl who pushed James B to the wall in the Missouri State Finals a few years ago,.,and she is BACK!

The division was won by Brandon H., brother of the Juniors Finalist, and because of the "Yellow Bag Tradition", the B & B brothers (yeah, there is a store of that name in Eureka, Missouri) took home both yellow bags.

Masters

Alex B. versus Newman. This was the match many had anticipated once Chuck announced he was coming.

The matches were excellent, in that in swiss, Newman got up early, and then had his deck fail on him, with Chuck pulling some fun on the way to a win.

In the finals...well, I didn't see it, but 2 matches later, Chuck takes the victory to the finals.

Waiting him was Darren S and Metanite, who was also dispatched in 2 games.

A great event in all divisions.

Jake, a n00b can't go 4-1. We've established that. Meaning, all 4 of them aren't n00bs.

I'm saying I hate the system cuz I was the only 4-1 not to make Top 4. You went 3-2 with a Top 8 cut, meaning you had to have really good resistance. So don't complain that you didn't make it when it looked grim for you in the first place. Darn tiebreakers >___>

man when I got in top 16 at St. Louis regionals I was a complete noob, first tourney I ever played in and I used metanite, it was so funny to see the look on some peoples faces when I beat them and they found out I was a beginner lol, Jimmy Ballard question my Noobness lol, I was setting by him at the #1 table and he was telling me I was to good to be a noob, so with that said noobs can be good, just look at me, lol

Well let me just chime in here too!

First off let me say it was awesome! I had sooo much fun doing the prizes....lol The faces they were making waiting to see what the card on bottom had in store...then the "OH MAN, I WANTED THE GRASS ENERGY...LOL" iT WAS A BLAST! Thanks Vince for letting me do this! It was fun!

Second......It was really cool to see NEW faces in the top cuts!! It gave alot of hope to those coming back & just getting started! I think this game needs to see new faces, not newbies, just new faces! It brings alot more back to the game for these people. The fact the the B & B brothers took the lead is just awesome! Im not sure who was more happier, the boys or their dad! It was really neat for them to come in & do what they did! WAY TO GO B & B BROTHERS!:clap:

Third.....BIG CHUCK!! It was a pleasure to finally put the face with the name! Im sure weve been at other events at the same time, but just never heard "BIG CHUCK's" name called out! Thanks for advising Heather on her deck. I think that really helped her defuse the fight between her & dad...lol Thanks again & CONGRATS on your WIN! AWESOME! (I have that picture too Chuck if you want a copy of it w/you and lilgroudon)

Fifth......Newman & Lynn:There battle was the best to watch I think! Even tho the outcome was a lil crazy, the entire thing was def something to watch! I think Lynn held her own! It was awesome! Way to go Lynn, Ive enver seen Newman so nervous like he was playing you! To cute

Sixth...MY DAUGHTER HeatherCross! This is exactly what she needed to boost her confidience again! Top 2 then taken down by the B & B brothers! She just recently came back into the top 4, I think maybe 2 weeks in a row??? Then now to top 2....WAY TO GO MY GIRL!! She was on cloud 9 the whole way home!

Seventh....My son Ryan for taking Jake down! Sorry Jake, that horn youve been tooten...Just didnt sound good to me! Not that Im anyone special but hey! Props to him! Not that it got Ryan anywhere in the tourny but just bragging rights for MOM! :wink:

Eighth....Just an overall great day! Not to mention that I wasnt around with the camera for Keiths great play that he was just so STOKED about! Sorry Keith, that will at least get you bragging rights for a day or so...lol :rolleyes:

All in All....New faces, New players, or noobs, whatever you call them...Have every right to WIN too! The Game Title ISNT just for the "GOLDEN OLDIES" or in this case shall I say...."THE HAS BEENS"!! Bringing new faces to the table is what the GAME is all about!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK & KEEP THEM COMING!

I think losing a game where your opponent starts with a Dratini would in turn destroy any worth one has, so no regaining has occurred. And as always you refer to a totting that hasn't occurred in 2 years, so have fun with whatever it is you believed you've achieved.

Do I need to point out the irony in this? =/

I agree with Jake, a Dratini start is a Dratini start and it just screws you over. "Hey I can beat the World Champ if they get a Holon's Castform start with no bench and I can do 50 turn 1." =/


Besides that, going 4-1 bumped me up ranking wise, so it isn't that bad. Still...gotta add to that win total and keep moving up. :tongue:
