Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

States decks

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AmphyTrick looks really good- but you're going to have to find a way to consistently draw cards every turn(no Uxie or Claydol), and if you can't you'll be outspeeded.

Why can't you use Uxie and Claydol? Claydol would be protected by Manectric and Uxie wouldn't be affected by the power lock at all.

Manectric and Ampharos can use Claydol. Manectric's body stops his own attack from hitting his own pokemon. This will be a popular play, to say the least. The G pokemon will also be somewhat popular due to easy speed access. Machamp should be able to defeat both of these decks, and will also see play because of it.

Most of the rest will likely stay the same, Dialga LvX G takes care of so many new decks. I for one, will not run any deck that needs a body to be effective.

Skuntank and toxicroak will be good because you could add in xatu from SW.So then you poison both actives then move poison from croak to their active and do 60 T2.

LOL

Don't you read the cards? Skunktank G says, "excluding sp-pokemon". Toxicroak G is SP.

Plus, why would you add Xatu in a deck that runs Team Galactic Baxe? Kind of counterproductive.

Blastcatty will be good EXCEPT for the fact that Delcatty will be snipe bait.

Ampheros, Palkia G lv.X and Giratina lv.X.
But that's just a idea, snipe the bench with Giratina and get rid of pokemon with Pg lv.X.
No powers with Ampheros, but I think that would be too slow.

I still belive to the Toxicroak G/Skuntank G to be one of the bests... Also Uxie LA, Palkia Lv.X (GE) and Something to counter Mewtwo Lv.X would be nice.

Dialga G Lv.X can be good, but how te get it on play? Lv.X with 2 of retreat can't be called an easy TeCH to pull out... But if you get the way to get it in play easier, (Lv. max needs flips...)

Shaymin can be overrated and good at the sametime, Dialga Lv.X is there for Sahymins and the only ''goog'' deck that i have figured out is Scizor/Shaymin/Chatot...

Ampharos is broken, there is no argue with that. Good tech against it will be Dialga G Lv.X again.

Gigas only hurt is that when Ampharos is coming out it will be hard, but if Gigas pull out Dialga G Lv.X fast enough it will be an interesting game.

Ampharos would easily be the BDIF...

but Dialga G X stops it.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Not to mention that G decks and Ampharos both eat it for lunch

^No it won't. All you have to do is to have your own Manectric in your deck (should become fairly standard), and something to heal the few pokemon that might be damaged.

Also, in any deck that runs SSU, Zapdos could be a good tech to even the playing field vs. Amphy. There are way too many ways to get around this deck, despite its amazing first glance.

Another major thing about the Blastcatty vs. AmphyTrick situation that everyone is looking over is the weakness factor. So what if Manectric is saving the bench, Ampharos/Manectric are up top bringing the smackdown on your +30 weak Blastoise. Plus, the second Blastoise takes damage, he's locked, so you will have to have another one Well Digging on your bench. "Well, I'll just snipe with MY Manectric". No sir, mine is providing a wall as well. "Well, I'll get Delcatty to take you down and heal myself at the same time". From what I remember, Delcatty hurts itself, setting up ofr a lock without even attacking. Uh-oh, my Manectric got hit for 90 and was knocked out, and Delcatty healed itself :O. Ok, Ampharos, Energy Reflect, KO. I am done with my AmphyTrick rant now.

I think that Skuntank G/Toxicroak G will be pretty beast as well. Run Team Galactic's Base as your stadium, and all I can say is good game sir. The inventions will also help this deck out a lot too.

My major question is why is everyone saying that Dialga G lvX is the best thing since energy rain Blastoise? You send it up, it gets leveled, you do something fancy and bring it back to the bench, and then it's done. No attacks, just body lock. Well what if the deck you play doesn't use bodies? What if you start with Dialga? Now don't go bashing on me with the "There's only one, so my chances of starting with it are whatever/whatever". I ran one duskull in my deck at Nationals last year, and started with it 7 out of 8 rounds. Just saying tht techs that are specifically put in to counter a single deck can be extremely frustrating when you don't need it.

I myself also see Dustox and Blissey(not together) as possibilities. Dustox with the new Carnivine, and you have invincibility for most of the game. Running something else that throws in special conditions could work too. Running the new Blissey with the old Blissey is a very smart move as well. Discard and energy, heal your tank, and grab the energy back with Happy Chance.

No one said Blastoise beat Manectric @_@. And anyhow, Dialga is so good because of the vast amounts of decks that it techs against, being only one pokemon line. At least half of the high tier decks for states will abuse poke-bodies, and this card shuts them down entirely. Starting with Dialga is not big issue, for one, it is a very unlikely occurrence, just because you started with a Duskull 7 times does not change any actual odds. Also, Warp Points, Super Scoop Ups, and even a few energy attachments can be used to take Dialga out of the active position. If anything, starting with Dialga simply allows you to level it up that much faster.

Grass decks will fail via Dialga G.

People will run G decks and be sad when they realize an all pokemon G deck deals very little damage and gets trampled by any pokemon who can take a hit and OHKO back. More intelegent people will run decks with Pokemon SP in them and achieve much better results.

And last but certainly not least, I will be able to come back to the gym every day and get a good laugh out of what people say will be good decks til they get force fed the truth and what decks are actually (happens EVERY TIME).
