Stormfront Infernape Revealed!

dude, i cant wait for tyranatar, me and my friend(soxrcol) are going to play that deck with water weavile and darkriaX. come on you have 5 energy and your doing 150 damage to their pokemon, and if you want 30 to everything. how awesome is that, lol.

I've built a deck around this; it's decent, But often lacks that power needed for a KO. I'm also running a MD Infernape and may try a Heatran Lv. X to recover energy. The new Bronzong+Lunatone is a great way to pull out and discard Fire Energy for Infernape Lv.X

copycat xD, using exact same deck, joking...

Artwork = Fantastic, the whole Stormfront artwork! I'm digg'n it!

The Pokemon, is a good lategamer. Thing is Infernape is a good earlygamer, bit ironic power so to say ;) but still a possible option offcourse! Might work 2-1-2-1 With Magmortar tough! Just as a tech offcourse and with Heatran in it.

It'll be interesting to see how to fit this monkey in the same deck with the other monkeys. It seems slower than the other ones, tho...

I can't believe that I'm actually disagreeing w/ bullados...

Slower?

t1 .. basic ape = attach energy..
t2 .. rare candy => attach energy for turn (total = 2 energies) ==> flip for power
== > attach four NEW energies to Stage 2 ape (total SIX energies attached)
.. and ..
.. BLAZE... 80 for KO and 20 to bench... discard 2 energy...

t3 ==> attach for turn (total 5 energy still on...) ==> BLAZE for 80 KO .. .

Game over ?

IF NOT .. then..

t4 - .. attach for the turn (3 energy now) .. CLOSE COMBAT for the win ?

If not then...

t5 .. attach for the turn (4 energy now.. again...) ... CLOSE COMBAT FOR THE WIN ???

if not then..

t6 ... attach for the turn (5 energy now .. ) ... BLAZE FOR THE WIN ???

slower? really ?

I was thinking 'wow', until I realised that it doesn't work with Heatran LVX.

That, plus Psychic weakness, plus the 120 HP (which is what stopped Luxray from being great), means that this card is just ok now.

only when it's a lvx this will be kinda good because then it's a fire pokemon.

this raises a good point. if i toss the lv x down on it, does this pokemon become a fire pokemon, and no longer has the fighting type? if i have a level x on it, and attack a pokemon with weakness to fighting, does it only count as a fire pokemon, now that the level up card is played on it?

thanks

My coin flips are notoriously horrible. I'm the guy who flipped all tails on Sneasel three times in a row. I'm the guy who flips all tails on TSD three games in a row. If something relies on a coin flip to make it work, then I consider it to be slow or bad. Ask anybody from Chicago about Ragan, and they'll tell you the whole story.

ALL TYPES , WEAKNESSES , AND RESISTANCE comes from the LvX.
The stage 2 levels up to a NEW mega card that is LvX.

So.. Fire type, with the weakness/resistance of Ape LvX.
You can no longer take advantage of Fighting type when leveled up.

It's been ruled already.

Then you need to take a hard swig of your Deer Park water... hold up a coin and shout "FOR LA RAZA!!!" ... then flip in slow motion. It'll be so dramatic, the coin wouldn't DARE land on tails

It seems like all the good cards have great attacks that only cost an energy or have some way of getting energys on it. This card is good, but I think its meta dependent. If Kingdra(more than one) or Gengar(more than one) is in your Meta then this isn't the card for you to be playing. The power is awesome, it even allows to choose where the energy's go. The flip is only so its fair.

I should also note, as difficult as it would be to run 2 stage 2's, that an Infernape/Typhlosion deck also fixes the problem, but only if you get 2 Infernape and 2 Typhlosion in play. The free Retreat cost means you can build up one Ape on the bench and then send it in to attack.

Ape gets the benefit from Stark Mountain either way.
