Who do you prefer and why?

Marth or Roy?

Captain Falcon or Gannondorf?

Fox Cloud or Falco Lombardi?

Pichu or Pikachu?

Mario or Doctor Mario?

Mario or Luigi?

Link or Young Link?


I choose Marth because of his speed and his Counter has a longer time than Roy's.
I choose Captain Falcon because of his GREAT balance of speed and power.
I choose Falco because he has more power and more control, in my opinion, than Fox.
I choose Pichu because his speed and nothing more.
I choose Dr. Mario because his Color can be black and his Over Smash is Electrically Charged.
I choose Mario over Luigi because Luigi looks fruity,
I'll use Link or Young Link, It depends on the opponent.

How about you?
 
1. Marth. He's faster and less clumsy.

2. Captain Falcon. He's faster.

3. Fox. He does a Barrel Roll.

4. Mario. His Fireball is better.

5. Luigi. He does the whole body - missle thing.

6. Young Link. He has fire - arrows. You can't beat that.
 
Marth. Better-looking.
Falcon. Not uncontrollably slow.
Falco. Just because.
Pika-rat. Less "shoot me now" cutesy.
Mario. He's not a clone form.
Luigi. Just because.
Link. I've never liked Link as a little kid.

Clearly you don't know the fear (read: "dread mortal panic") I inspire in people by posting in an SSBM thread. You'd think I was some kind of aggressive beast bent on crushing peoples' minds or something.

But really, as far as "arguments" so far in this thread go, all I've said is that Marth is hotter than Roy. I doubt most people will care about debating that.

Captain Falcon or Gannondorf? Ganandorf is the slowest thing that has ever existed. A snail could pass him in Hyrule Castle and get to Canada in the time it takes him to attack.

Fox Cloud or Falco Lombardi? While his laser has a slower rate of fire, it does have a stun effect, which means you can actual get more shots in and do more damage with him than with Fox

Pichu or Pikachu? It's just too cute to ignore.

Mario or Luigi? He can hit people with his fire from over gaps, he's taller, he has a cooler mustache, and his headbutt attack pwns.

Link or Young Link? Link's attacks are more powerful, and his Hookshot has a larger range of fire. Plus, Young Link's is the only Target Practice I can never beat.

not really a poll if you state reason, even if they are 2 words long. There are many different reason you could prefer one character over the other. As shown by the the answer given so far.
Anyway, my turn:

Marth or Roy? Roy cause of the fire thing he does, it's been a while since I've played with him so I forgot.

Captain Falcon or Gannondorf? Gannodorf Falcon is just to fast for me to control. Plus I can time Gannodorfs attack better then C. Falcon

Fox Cloud or Falco Lombardi? Falco, i feel like he is stronger and bit more controlable.

Pichu or Pikachu? Pikachu, anything that does damage to itself in this game is bad.

Mario or Doctor Mario? Mario, just because.

Mario or Luigi? Mario, Luigi is to cheesy.

Link or Young Link? Young Link, a little faster but almost the same slash. (not to mention he is my favorite play to play with)

hmmmm, my choices:

roy, i play as both, but i prefer roy because i tend to inspire fear with well timed 'counters'

falcon, becasue of speed and the all powerful knee XD

have to go with falco, because he can pillar XD and, his short hop lasers wreck havoc w/noobs

pikachu, broken upsmash, plus, is way too fun to play

doc, b/c pills+looks cool in the black costume, much better than mario

luigi, most annoying when wavesmashing

link, longer range, and the superjump

How do you do the Super Jump? I've tried, but it just won't work. Also, what is pillar?
 
I choose:
Roy for more damage,
Falcon because he is so much faster,
Falco because he's blue,
Pikachu because hurting myself is a very bad idea,
Doctor Mario because throwing pills is awesome,
Mario because Luigi's whole body throw (or what ever you want to call it) is to hard to control, and
Link because of his spamability at Hyrule Temple (the only place I ever play at).

superjump you need an old version of melee, ver. 1.0 or 1.1

to pillar, you use falcos shine to send them up into the air, and then you jump up and use his d-air to send them back down, and then you repeat. it is for comboing and getting lots of damage racked up

its actually also to wear down a shield. repeated SH d-airs and shine cancels will wear down a shield really fast.

Where does it tell you which version you have?

I guess I've been pillaring ever since I started using Falco, then. lol

His "D-Air" is that Corkscrew Kick thing, right? Also, what I like to do, is Corkscrew Kick them when they are near or over the edge to LAUNCH them to their doom. lol
