Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Supreme Victors Cynthia's Guidance Revealed

I can see the up and downs of this card. I only say it will see play because you can get any card not just pokemon. Early game set up maby but late game could hurt.

Aww man....that's all I gotta say.

It's nice to look at the top 7, but come on, it should be we can put them back in any order.

I'd give it a 7/10.

Actually, I think later in the game is where this card could really shine, especially if your deck is one that thins down pretty well.

Here's one example: You have 4 cards in hand and 12 in your deck and there is one card that you really need. You use Cosmic Power to put 2 under and draw 4. No luck. That leaves 10 cards in your deck, but you know what the bottom 2 are, so you know the card you want is in that top 8. Using Cynthia's Guidance at that point gives you a 7/8 chance of getting what you want.

There are a lot of things that put cards at the bottom of your deck--Cosmic Power, Pokedex, Uxie Lv.X's Trade-Off, Uxie's Psychic Restore, Underground Explorer, etc., so you can cut down the number of unknown cards at the top of your deck quite a bit, raising the probability that you will find what you want. And if there is more than one card, or two of whatever it is that you want, the odds go up quite a bit.

Of course the above is purely theoretical. The above may not really work in practice. Even if it does work, it may be too situational to use a supporter spot for. But this card could end up being more useful than it might initially seem.

Somebody gets it

I'm going to mark this thread and then I will see what people think come CCs.

Aquapolis didn't have UXIE !

If you don't know... you'll figure it out later.

that's all I'm sayin'

I don't see what Cynthia G Replaces? 1 of 7... and my supporter play is gone. I guess the chance access to a trainer is decent. I will have to consider that.

Rosie - whole deck for Energy / Basics
Bebe - whole deck for Any poke
Cyrus - one piece of SP trainer goodness + Supporter + a Basic Energy

P.Drawer - 2 for whole deck to get 2 cards
P.Dex - any of 1 of 2
Lux Ball - any but lvl x
Prem Ball - lvl x in deck or discard

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Cynthia's Guidance is useless because you could just use Roseanne's Research or Bebe's Search to do the exact same thing, except that they aren't limited to the top 7 cards of your deck.

When you figure out how to get a Trainer, a Stadium or a Special Energy with Roseanne and Bebe please let me know. That's the potential positive of CynG. I'm not saying that outweighs the downside of using a supporter for this. But I don't see it replacing Bebe or Rosie.

its ok alot like master ball exept its a supporter and you can chose trainers and supports tools and stadiums instead of just pokemon

5/10 because there are pleanty of other cards that search for the specific card that you are looking for
probly the next staple in the theam decks like a moms kindness or something like that

i give it a 7/10 mainly because it takes up your supporter for the turn. but it can be extremely helpful with getting that one card you really need. i plan on using one in my deck

You guys are missing the point with this card. You have this misconception that 7 cards has a high chance of having a card that you're looking for. Imagine you play this turn 1 going 2nd, 6 prizes, 7 cards in hand + your draw = 46 cards left in your deck. Now say you play this looking for something you play 1 of. 46/7 = about a 1 in 7 chance that you get that card (horrible). Even if you play 4 copys of something, the odds are still against you getting it. The argument of it being good late game with the deck thinner is stupid because late game you shoulda have already used up all your good cards, and you should have Claydol out milling through your deck still.

If you're looking for Basics or Energy, play Roseannes
If you're looking for Evolutons, play Bebe's
If you're looking for SP Trainers, play Cyrus
If you're looking for non-SP Trainers (Rare Candy), play more Rare Candy

This card could be ok in certian decks. I wouldnt mind using this in gengar, machamp, or g-champ. I would love the hand machop, machamp, cynthia g, energy, 3 random cards. Good chance of getting a rare candy. I wouldn't mind running one cause there has been many times when i have used cosmic power, not gotten the card i needed, or a bebes or other supporter, where this card would be useful.

This card is Going to see play once people realize what it allows you to do, not sayin you will run 4 but at any point in the game selecting for the top 7 can and will help.

crads that you can now grab with this supporter that you cant with any other.

Warp point
Rare Candy
Night Maintanence
VS Seeker
Switch
Super Scoop Up
Stadiums
Special Energy...(upper, Call, Dark, Metal )
Thats in addition to pokemon, supporters, and basic energy

Decks like Gengar...Beedrill...and even flygon can use this supporter! say you have the flygon line in hand, now you have a controlled chance at grabbing your BTS...vs dumping you hand for a uxie drop or claydol ect...

Porygon 2 can and will abuse this card.

Remember delta Metagross...he only let you grab 4 cards...but it made a huge difference in setting up
